At Gamestop in SF it was different though, the crowd was cheering for Daigo not Justin.
But they didn’t have anything to cheer for Justin that match.
That match was awesome. When they introduced justin everyone cheered, then they introduced, as they put it, the man that doesn’t need an introduction, daigo, everyone cheered as well. Was hype on both sides. Man that was a cool match. Hope I get to catch SBO streamed, I believe there was talk about streaming it.

Daigo is a good player as is justin. Daigo later compares justin to the highest level of japanese players in an interview from gootecks and kuni. But surely Daigo wouldn’t compilement an american right?
while I doubt it was 4000 people in that hall, maybe 2000, but none of them were hostile to Daigo. We all respected him as a player but rooted for justin for the most part. There were no crying or death threats to daigo when he finally beat justin. The crowd got up and gave both competitors an applause for an amazing final.

I root for Daigo ‘cause of his skill, not cause J. Wong is American. I admire J. Wong’s skill, but seriously, the guy can be very cocky. Daigo however, is a pretty humble guy, even when he wins. No offence to J. Wong but you should celebrate after you win the whole game, not after every round you win. Heck, I’m freakin’ Canadian and I think that rooting for J. Wong cause you’re an American is just dumbass logic.

I prefer Daigo over JWong any day, but JWong is an amazing player because he adapts to all styles quickly, and Daigo is a very clutch player. So, Both of em have their strengths and weaknesses, but I prefer Daigo. That’s all.
I don’t root for justin because of the stupid shit he does. One instance would be how he got up to celebrate when there was still a round 3, if i was Daigo and 7k was on the line i would have started slapping that start button and get a few hits in before the other guy can grab his controller. Justin was just lucky Daigo was nice enough to wait because if that were to happen then it was his own fault for getting up when he had another round to go.
I’m pretty sure a lot of people would have lost a lot of respect for daigo if he had done that.
Justin is a great showman. It’s all about riling up the crowd to get cheering. If the street fighting scene was full of Daigos it would be too quiet, and to be honest, boring. You need a balance of each and I think it’s great that Justin was psyched about getting up there and putting on a show. If people are hating on the player, that’s good cause then you get fans for and against and you get a crowd cheering for both. It’s just like a football game.
