Noooo! Don’t spread that information!

Not really. You can do **whatever , Close Standing Jab , Close Standing Forward , whatever , Ultra. The issue with this is that, while it’s an easy link from jab to forward, a lot of times, you’ll get Far Standing Forward instead of the launch. While this won’t end in a dead Yang, it is EXTREMELY annoying. In training, I can land the launch dive kick whiff ultra 100%, but in match, I get far forward.

lol, how much frames of invencibility does U1 have?
I was playing against a Zangief player, and I usually use U1 as an Anti-Air. So, this Zangief jumps on me and I U1 him, but I mistime the jump and the U1 activates after he lands. Immediatelly after my U1 startup animation, Zangief mashes his U1 as well. So it goes like this:
-Yang’s U1 startup animation
-Zangief’s U1 startup animation
-Yang’s U1 hits Zangief
The Zangief player even dropped the controller after it lol

not sure if this is known or not but if u AA with lk dp and it only hits once and your near the corner, you can reset the opponent with a cr.lk as they fall…pretty ridiculous mixup
You can make it worse and special cancel that cr.lk into a palm. LP palm feint to throw/command throw, or mp palm for FADC combos, or hp palm for knockdown.
yeah its the exact same thing as the corner reset i just didnt know it could be done off an AA dp
Yeah; if you like using cl.mk as an anti-air, you can dash into that reset from mid-screen.
I’m having such a hard time with Yang. I’m up to 3300BP on PSN, but I’m having a hard time mainly because I’m giving up free damage. I mained Rog before, and I did fairly well with him in vanilla & super, but I’m having so many stupid scrub problems with Yang that it’s infuriating. I almost wanna quit this stupid game because I feel like Yang activated some mental disability that was lying dormant all my life.
I fish with rolling DP too much, I divekick at the wrong distance, I don’t know how and when to punish wiffed/blocked moves in pretty much all matchups, I don’t know how to close the distance quickly when I see an opening, I jump forward WAY too much, I don’t neutral jump nearly enough, I drop the 3 cr. short links 80% of the time, I don’t buffer mantis into my cr. forward when I should, and I don’t have a 100% guaranteed hit confirmable lead-in into U1 or U2 that I can do with my eyes closed. Like with Rog if I hit 2 cr. jabs, I’m getting the Ultra. Guaranteed.
I know the character’s new and all, but if you guys check the Gief thread, their general discussion outline is really clean and easy to follow. Surely 99% of the Yang players here are better than me and can share their knowledge. Someone should just copy their format and fill in the blanks.
Just a suggestion. I would do it myself. But I am not only free, but I am such trash that I actually pay you when I play with Yang.
I’ll look at it; I assume you mean the Flowchart thread.
With AE on PC, I’ll probably be making a small video series on the line of Lordofultima’s (Akuma); maybe that’ll help.
i understand where you are coming from. I used to be a rog player in vanilla and somewhat in super(i played adon as well) I have been playing yang for about 2 weeks now, and i used to feel the same way, but i talked to some friends, and just tried to understand yang a bit better, and now i feel my game has improved a whole lot. First when it comes to your execution theres not to much i can say about that, besides just practice practice practice. I still have trouble doing the cr.lk 3x in to rekkas. that takes time coming from playing rog, becuase they are links, not cancels like rogs jabs. sometimes knowing that in your head and thinking about it when your doing it will help.
I see alot of yangs do this, and i was guilty of it as well. Yes yang has a dive kick, and its pretty good. But yang also has a pretty solid ground game. What i try to do is focus on the ground game. get my opponent to focus on that, then when they dont expect it, start throwing in the dive kicks. Your main goal with yang is to push the opponent to the corner and yang is pretty good at it, one rekka combo is almost guaranteed corner. Also his air HK is amazing. it beats also everything i have run in to so far. so when you get your opponent in the corner, just sit there on wake, u dont have to do shit really, if the try to neutral jump, beat it with a air HK. mix up the high low jabs, and shorts, til u get a in and do more rekkas.
Also, only do roll kick when you have ex meter, that way its more safe.
Careful with that statement, now.
Anyone who sees a roll kick and knows anything about Yang is going to mash crouch jab; the roll itself is only projectile immune. Beyond that, it’s not too uncommon to see only the second hit of Yang’s roll kick to hit (which can’t be FADCed).
But beyond that, you’re solid bro.
^ yeah i guess it has been working for me so much becuase ive been playing people online so much. Usually they fall for stupid shit like that.
Anyone know if the wakeup “glitch” still works?
Why shouldn’t it?
Just wanted to make sure…
Putting in quality time with Yang… why is roll kick and teleport not the 3S motions :[
They thought it made sense for the DP to be a DP motion. I had to get used to it, too.
Hey, been training with Yang for a couple of weeks know and have the bnb down so I wanna move to getting down a basic Tenshin combo. However, I seem to be an imbecile when it comes to it. At what point do I press the cl.hp? What is the visual cue in order to know when to land the hp?
Prolly an idiotic question, but thanks for your time anyway.
Not much I can help with, but plink, and you can put it in a lot earlier than you would think.
