sup guys, apparently the way to go with yang oki is that whenever you land up kicks, j.mk is a cross-up only if you press after the top of the arc.
You can also dive kick to make it safer so it’s truly a mini “vortex”… i think this makes ending combos with up kicks much more tempting than going for slashes… unless you’re going for a FADC. All the yangs in japan seem to agree, what do you guys think? I’m personally gonna abuse this.
It’s character specific. Sometimes you score a perfect cross-up, but against Sagat, it often whiffs. Against some other character you land in front of them. But it’s the best yang Oki indeed. You can also go for a ligh dive kick to land right in front of without hiting and doing a Tenshin, it works fine.
I see… if it’s char specific then it’s more deadly don’t you think? If they dont know the matchup theres no way theyll guess right… if i think they might DP i’d just do whiff lk.dive like you said and it’s still scary pressure…
It’s absolutly wonderful yeah ! They must guess a lot. Look at 0:30 Ojisan Boy had to take a little step back to land perfectly cross-up : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBgJ2OaCAUE
Remember that you can do OS like Senkyutai or U2 to catch teleporters
So basically, if you’re going to use Seiei-Enbu, you should combo into it, otherwise, you’ll have to either A) make them block your low/high wrong or B) hope they don’t know about mid-hitting shadows and end up blocking wrong anyway.
hahhah, if you get Seiei on hit, you should be going for the c.mp loop. Midscreen on hit it’s not worth activating because the loops don’t combo out of the corner.
Well, you could do it in that fashion. However, then you suffer the penalties of damage scaling; it sorta forces you to at least attempt a reset in hopes of at least equaling the amount of damage you would have received from FADC combos. The other option is to activate your super similar to Juri’s ultra; score a knockdown and activate Seiei-Enbu. The flaws to that are obvious.
But, if your opponent has low HP and it’s the end of the game, go ahead and activate Seiei-Enbu. The natural reaction to seeing Seiei-Enbu activating is blocking low and watching for overheads. So, just throw.
So I spent about a good almost 4 hours playing online tonight and made it to the number 2 ranked Yang overall (not that BP means anything). Would appreciate it if you guys could maybe follow me via the Leaderboards and offer criticism on somethings. Playing online is hard cause people who are not used to Yang pressure start mashing so I have to adjust my game a lot and be random sometimes as well.
Here’s to having Yang at home, finally! Just roll with it.
