you guys excited for that console version? i know i am. no more spending money at the arcade for me lol.
I just hope it comes out sooner rather than later.
I am definitely hype about the console release I just got to mess around with yang at the arcade in town for a little bit! I think it’s crazy he has a sweep link. But aside from that I want to try out more and get a better feel for him as a character before June 7th I am very Hype.
I deciphered what I could from the frame data and made an excel sheet out of it. The only major things I’m missing are his overhead, divekick, and target combos. If you want the excel version just PM me and I’ll email it to you. Here’s a copy/paste of it:

Thanks for the work on the frame data. You should see a pm from me for that spreadsheet soon.
yeah needs the spread sheet
Yea it’s hard to read on here, so feel free to PM me an email address and I’ll send you the excel version.
Also, does anyone know the frame data on Yang’s Divekick or overhead? I didn’t want to guess.
That data can’t be right. There is no way Ultra 2 does 440 damage fully charged.
Has this been posted yet?
Pretty much sums it up, except that Yun does not have a better super; at least insofar as I can tell. I don’t really see that much damage coming out of Genei Jin, whereas I can take half life with Seiei.
Anyone else seeing Yun and Yang getting toned down on the consoles? I honestly would welcome it, just so noone could say “Everyone knows the twins are over powered! Use a REAL character! NO SKILL!” just because they lose. I only played SF3 once and didnt get a chance to play as Yang, but I look forward to using him alot in AE! He seems to have more style than Yun.
Genei jin does half life, same as a full seiei enbu combo, and his reset attempts are for the most part safer. Either a crossup shoulder into rush punch/ultra for fat damage, palm, or command grab. Seiei enbu resets involve hopkicks, and someone determined to block the hopkick will see them. Command grab is useless in seiei enbu, so that pretty much limits you to doing a j.forward crossup, or hopkick (or regular throw…)
A genei jin with a reset at the end does pretty much the same thing as seiei enbu with a reset. Damage is not the only factor when trying to determine which super is ‘better’. Yun can land it in way too many ways, pretty much anywhere on the screen, and you’ll always end up in the corner. Seiei enbu, while incredibly damaging in the corner even without resets, is not scary midscreen (so far).
Also, there will be no rebalancing for consoles from what I have read. Yun and Yang will be exactly the same as the arcade versions.
nice read! interesting stuff
According to event hubs SSF4 AE tracker, there is an arcade with SSF4 right around the corner from my house. Going to the arcade tomorrow morning (at work till 1:30 AM) to try out Yang. Anything anyone wanted some info about?
I still haven’t seen Genei Jin do half life, perhaps I just need to search more. All those c.mp -> dash loops can be done midscreen also. But, I’ll take your word for it and try to get some more playtime with Yun.
So far all you can do midscreen with Yang’s super is that odd stand fierce teleport loop that scales really quickly or you can do cr. forward xx slash and end it with sweep or U2. More slashes is also an option but it does pretty much zero damage. Crouching strong loops shouldn’t work midscreen, but I could be wrong.
Seiei Enbu screams for unblockable imho, but we’ll have to wait for console version to test it properly
Already stated to be impossible, the shadows attacks are never considered an overhead, they are considered mid, so they can be blocked high and low. The best way to have an “unblockable” is by utilizing ambiguous cross-ups. Nothing in SSFIV is ever truly unblockable.
I have not seen, let alone done, a midscreen seiei enbu combo involving multiple c.strong -> dash. The most I can see seiei enbu doing are multiple resets midscreen, which isn’t that great overall due to the time wasted waiting for the opponent to stand [if you sweep].
Unless there’s some video floating around showing this loop midscreen, I’m going to say it’s just impossible. I’m tried it several times and it even -looks- like it wouldn’t work when you go for it. At the least, it would be character specific and that’s just kind of like whatever.
seems like hamamatsu rufus changed to yun, as seen from the topanga stream
edit: and acqua uses yang? wut
