C.mk is back to 6 frames. Combofiend said it was a little too strong. (Blegh). I told him it helped her damage output more than her footsie.
Scmk has been changed. It’s unthrowable frame 1, but airborne frame 2. This means, no air reset.
Ex dive kick is Infact safe on block and can be jump backed. It’s safe on block if hit from the waist but advantageous if hit really low. It looks almost instant. It’s… Whacky.
Ex fireball mid is really strong. Combo got really quiet when I was using it. My friends all turned to him and said “come on man that’s bullshit”. He didn’t say a word. Kinda scares me >.>. Apparently against Ryu the fireballs split and caused each fireball to hit at separate times keeping him in block stun for a LONG time. I then dashed up… Baited throw and ex dive kick… Ultra 2… Cackled. Combo didn’t look pleased.
NEW CHANGE!!! Ex pinwheel has been buff/nerfed. It now is like sfxt. It sucks you in to ensure all hits. I didn’t try it vs airborne. This also means… When blocked you’re next to your opponent. So…this is bad.
Ex pinwheel change sounds nice, I hate it when people fall out. Being closer on block doesn’t seem important when it’s -15 already.
The close MK change is weird, like it’s suddenly a problem that she can force an air reset on her wakeup?? Hasn’t been an issue ever. She still takes damage and is usually still in a pressure situation. I hope they revert it.
It would be nice if they put crouch MK back to 5 frames too and just stop messing with things.
Kail you got to play the metagame better. You’re supposed to complain to combofiend that Juri is too weak so he’ll buff her more.
I’m just as guilty though, I made the mistake playing a set of Ultra with Combofiend at NEC and I spammed the shit out of F+MK (airborne on frame 1 back then). I got out of every block string/command throw mixup he did to me. Coincidentally the airborne on frame 1 sekku got removed the next build :p.
Shame they nerfed cs.mk, and I think ex pinwheel change is a nerf as well, because it will allow for much more optimal punishes on block.
I don’t know why I care though, she’s gonna be even different at the next major :v
So many people fell out or only the first 1or 2 hits connected when I played in the last days it’s ridiculous (cr.MK xx EX Pinwheel to blowup focus and the person poked instead and I beat it).
I don’t really see it as a nerf at all since most characters can just raw ultra on block anyway.
It does suck if it leaves them right next to you after ex pinwheel. I don’t like the idea of evil ryu cl.hp me in the face where before he’d have to cr.mk xx lk axe/fireball fadc to get anything juicy out of it. Sounds like they may consider reverting pretty much most of her buffs and leave only…fixes, fs.mp cancellable, pinwheel and divekick? I really hope they don’t revert ex mid fireball.
Honestly. It’s a nerf in some ways. Think about it. Right now ken does a no metered punish of hp srk (1 hit). Ryu does sweep. Dunno if these are optimal just what I’m used to.
Now… No metered punishes are gonna HURT!
But… It’s our job to find the good stuff in it. Will Rufus be able to dive kick us out of our pinwheels. If he doesn’t…he’s gonna eat full damage. I didn’t try against cross ups as sometimes the pinwheel hit behind. Wouldn’t it be great if they got pulled back in?
Stay positive. We have a lot of changes but I think her buffs are strong enough to help us out greatly.
Well have to test it… But I felt like fse combos with c.hp didn’t work when they should have. I could be wrong. I think kaisen is the better ultra in the new iteration but I’ll definitely be testing things.
does sLP not hit most crouchers? that and far MP cancellable lets her get more consistent damage across the board, kind of like xT lol
the buffs to ex mid fireball and ex dive are such huge buffs. i’d laugh if they get reverted despite them being so useful, just because now she has two new excellent ways to use meter. although the ex dive can just be made - to make it just middling and ex mid fireball could be altered in a number of ways to be worse. it’d just be nice to have a usable ex fireball when LK fireball is stored.
no 5f crMK = expected. 3 crLK to crMK xx hk pinwheel is 180, which is kind of ridiculous. too good for a crouch tech mash
i feel like the cl.MK change was a long time coming, it was never broken enough to make her good but it doesn’t make a lot of sense to be in the game in the first place
ex pinwheel vacuum sounds interesting, does this increase her damage off like jMP air to air sHP ex pinwheel? what about ex pinwheel anti air?
if ex dive stays + on block, then i think FSE is the better ultra as you get a pretty easy way in and force something
if ex mid fireball stays good i think juri will be actually tournament winning good. that lockdown is useful and not many characters have something like that.
cr.mk being 6 frames i can deal with…but cl.mk airborne frame 2? it was a great way to blow up mashed cr. techs all day (still can but still…).
Regarding DU…since Juri gets to use 75% if DU…does that mean at 50% ultra meter she gets 37% or 52%? Because at 37% if you get a ex shikusen and go into Kaisen…that eqauls quite poor dmg for 1 bar and half an ultra bar…doesn’t even sound worth it.
IDK Juri still sounds strong, until I looked over the buffs for the rest of the cast. I don’t think she’s gonna be near as good as some of the current top tiers, or the guys like Ken that are getting ridiculous buffs.
Ex pinwheel having vacuum effect means now she has a way to deal with level 1 focus (mixed up with backdash) when lk fuhajin is stored. A huge buff imo.
I don’t think Juri is gonna go up or down in the tier rankings.
Only the metagame will change for us. How we use her. The new strats.
She’ll still end up being listed mid tier a year from now.
Win/lose percentage will still be the same.
Bad match ups will remain bad.
Good match ups will remain good.

I agreed with the 1st original build. Not just for her but for most of the cast.
Regardless of the massive overreactive obnoxious complaints coming from only the high tier whorers that caused the major changes after the 1st playtests.
