Jurassic Park/World - Jurassic World: Dominion now set for 2022

He fucking Mega Evolved and became a flying type. THAT’S HOW HE ESCAPED.

They’ve already confirmed that they’re also using practical effects. However, none of the shots in the trailer are anything that could easily be done with them, hence the CGI.

If the early reports are correct, Chris Pratt’s character is supposed to be a raptor trainer. So it’s more likely that the raptors that we see are the pack that Chris has trained. The previous films have already shown raptors to be highly intelligent pack animals, kinda like wolves, so it could be possible to train them, and if raised enough from an early age, imprint on Chris’ character.

In any case.

people think starlord but forget that this may be a bit more relevant:

I just dont know. Getting to see 40 feet prehistoric creatures, and riding along side with them would be exciting enough for me. I dont need a potential killing machine somewhere on that island to get my juice pumping to go. Im sure your rationalization for the reason behind the splicing would be the optimal reason why they did it, but knowing hollywood, they will justify it as… FOR SCIENCE. :persevere:

Agreed 100% I was excited for Jurassic World until they talked about a Gene-Splicing Dinosaur and then I went…“WTF?” Isn’t this supposed to be about actual Dinosaurs and not some Genetically Modified Dinosaur? You’re going to have a Tyrannosaurus Rex…their is No Other Dinosaur More Bad Ass then that.

Not to mention it’s frustrating for me because I’m a bit of a Dinosaur Enthusiast who knows about them more then the average person. You could’ve done a perfectly great Jurassic Park or in this case World movie without ever having to opt for a “Fantasy Dinosaur”.

What MADE the original Jurassic Park so great was that it was Real Dinosaurs that Acted Like Real Animals, not some Terminator Dinosaur Killing Machine. I just wished they hadn’t gone this route…Will I still watch it? Yes, because I want to see what they did, but this is one of the few things I don’t like about the movie already, and easily my #1 Dislike.

The other part, and this one still boggle my mind is that…how did the CGI seem to become worse? The shot in the trailer where the Gallimimus are seen running almost reminiscent of the original JP and they don’t even look as good as the original JP versions. Both these scenes did not use animatronics either, and the sauropods also look too cgi like, while the ones we saw in JP 1 looked far more believable as a living breathing dinosaur.

Even to this day, the CGI of Jurassic Park stands the absolute test of time, however just the few shots I saw here made me noticed that it was CGI. The Great White Shark eaten by the Mosasaur, yeah, the Mosasaur didn’t look too bad, but that Great White looked faked.

Once again, I’ll give it the Benefit of the doubt…Just Not on the Gene-Spliced Dinosaur…that’s just ridiculous. You have Real Dinosaurs like the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Giganotosaurus, Spinosaurus, UtahRaptor, etc, etc…you don’t need to throw in a Fairy Tail Dinosaur to make this movie epic.

JP Dinosaurs are actually modified cause Dr. Wu slapped in Amphibian DNA in the sequence gaps. That’s how the Raptors are able to change sex. And there are plenty other Theropods cooler than a T.Rex.

Bruce…noooooooooo! :s

Dogs? Please we have raptors as pets in the future. Leave hell of a mess in the yard thou.

My favorite thing about the Mosasaur pick is that as if some electrical fence would be able to keep the Mosasaur from jumping out of the water to snatch up the trainer/guide.

Yes that is true, due to certain African Frogs having that capability, however my main point was that a T-Rex in Jurassic Park didn’t have genetic features of a Raptor combined with the Rexes own which is what I’m eluding too. You don’t have to be this drastic in order to try and create an amazing dinosaur when we have scores of realistic dinosaurs that are just as spectacular.

Clearly opinion on my part, what you believe is the “cooler” dinosaur is your own take. My own statements are…#1 T-Rex and then their is everybody else.

The problem with the T-Rex is that they already one-upped it in the 3rd film with the Spinosaurus (as inaccurate as it was). So going back to the T-Rex would be a step down.

The other thing has to do with the theme of the movie. The original was all about the folly of man trying to use science to control nature and make a profit. The new film obviously wants to retreat that. However, it is harder to do so in a setting where the park itself has been up and running (successfully, I might add), for almost a decade now (the promotional Masrani site seems to indicate that it’s been open since 2005). This is a world where cloning dinos has become passe. Having an artificially developed, hybrid dino helps bring that theme back. The most likely plot point here is that they’re doing it as a way to attract more visitors. With the park having run for almost a decade now, interest is bound to wane a bit so the hybrid is bound to be something to, at the very least, attract attention back to the park.

3 aside, the main theme with the movies is man always tries to control everything and bites off more than he can chew. Even when an environment is maintained, we as humans just have to find a way to fuck it up by going overboard and usually for trivial means. For a new Dino, rather they should have a multibattle now. Tyrannosaurus vs Giganotosaurus vs Carcharodonotsaurus (wow try saying that five times fast)

I felt bad for the shark. It’s not like having billions of Asians horny for shark fin soup wasn’t a big enough hassle to deal with, now they have to worry about being used as fucking food for giant freaking dinosaurs much to the delight of a dumb ass audience who squeal with delight when they get splashed with water.

if that Mosasaur doesn’t bust through a security measure, and eat dozens of people, I will be disappointed.

My money is on the hybrid dinosaur being a giant T-Rex + raptor, combined with human DNA to give them that extra intelligence.

Consider me un-hyped.

First of all, I fail to see the need of bringing a fantasy dinosaur to the mix. The point of the movies was to see dinosaurs, not fantastic monsters.

What’s probably worse, the “balance of forces” seems ridiculous, and that’s an important factor for me in a movie of this kind. I can see dinosaurs being a problem to a small, secretive, unprepared group of scientists and their grandchildren (just like I can see an alien being a problem to half a dozen civilians, or 500 aliens being a problem to a dozen marines), but how are they going to make this movie work in a fully organized park unless humans are complete retards or they make the new dino the fucking Godzilla?

Maybe they’ll have some wacky environmental fringe group sabotage the park, thus unleashing hell.

But your retard theory carries a lot of weight. Especially in these types of movies.

It’s been already confirmed that there is an actual human bad guy played by Vincent D’Onofrio (who plays the CFO of Masrani).

Because there needs to be a major scientific advancement that trumps the cloning of the dinosaurs. This is a world where dinosaur cloning has been done for over 2 decades now and the part itself has been open for 10 years. Not having some sort of new scientific breakthrough would take away from the themes that both the original film, and this new one, are focusing on.

To quote Ian Malcolm from the first film “I’ll tell you the problem with the scientific power that you’re using here. It didn’t require any disciple to attain it. You know, you read what other have done, and you took the next step. You didn’t earn the knowledge for yourselves, so you don’t take any responsibility.” That line sums up the message of the original JP and JW. And it’s a concept that wouldn’t work in a setting where the park has been operating for almost a decade now.

Not having a “next step” would only work if they were just reopening the park, but that would be a simple retread, a cheap copy if you will, of the original. With JW, we see something that was only dreamed of in the originals, the park itself actually in operation for year. It’s a world where, despite the incidents in both islands, Hammond’s concept actually did bear fruit albeit under the guidance of a rich Indian (Masrani). In this way, it actually ties back into that line. Masrani is building on InGen’s original work and is now, taking the next step.

I wouldn’t mind a quick Goldblum “I told you so” cameo.

Not exactly hyped about FrankieDino either. Not saying we should have the T-Rex be the focus of the movie again (we already had 2 movies for that), but I just hope that the big “reveal” of FrankieDino doesn’t happen to be some hilariously horrendous creature straight out of a ScyFy original movie.
