Jurassic Park/World - Jurassic World: Dominion now set for 2022

I couldn’t stop laughing at the British nanny’s death. I felt kinda bad about it, though. Not about her death, but about being the only one in the packed theater laughing my ass off.

Yeah. She has scars from the raptors in JP.

Is Hollywood intentionally making a shitload of bad to terrible movies just so the triple A big budget movies make their money? When there’s nothing but shit coming out, people will flock to a JP movie like it’s the greatest movie ever. Avengers aou shows just how fucking stupid or shit tasted people are if that movie made that fucking much.

That being said movie was pretty good, as good as to first (the first was never great to begin with) and slightly better than 2 and 3. It was worth the watch.

I guess her death was plot punishment for being on her phone while the kids snuck off? I felt sorry for her. It’s weird how movies inject their own twisted morality to push the plot.

Like in thriller movies where some businessman refuses to give change to a homeless guy and then gets brutally murdered by a serial killer around the block as some kind of divine karmic justice for being momentarily unsympathetic.

I liked the Marvel cameos.
Great showing by Starlord, Kingpin, Bishop and Gwen Stacey.

Anyone else repeat this Old School line when referencing the Raptors scene:

“You’re my boy BLUE!!!”

I want to re-affirm this as well because I also stated this in my spoiler earlier. By the time Jurassic World place the T-Rex we see in there is at least around 25 years of age since she was born in the year of 1990 which realistically would make her an old Granny by T-Rex standards. The oldest living specimen we have of a Tyrannosaurus Rex is Sue and she died at the age of 28 years old so this would mean that the Rex in Jurassic World is near the end of her life.

That’s why the creators purposely made things like her skin being tighter to her body and the next part is simply just from my own perspective, but she also seems to be much thinner in size as well in contrast to how she looked back in the original Jurassic Park to where she was very robust and at her prime.

I’m seriously hoping that in JW2 to have the T-Rex returning, but possibly a New One that isn’t old, but at his/her peak, because the T-Rex in many ways has become the Iconic Dinosaur Hero or Heroine. I would also like to see the Spinosaurus make a return, but the newly updated Spinosaurus in paleontology.

Is there actually going to be a Jurassic World 2?

I remember hearing something that they’ll only be interested in making JW2 if JW itself was successful. Considering we know now that it even surpassed The Avengers on opening Weekend, one would assume that the Green Light for JW2 is probably in the talks now.

Right on. Well, I’m always down to watch some dinosaurs eat all the fuckers.

Mind you, that’s still being debated.

Still debated indeed, but the most accurate we have thus far. Until the papers come out, we’ll have a better understanding, however you can’t deny bones, which is what they actually have. I don’t think it walked actually, but probably waddled like a croc etc. This would be a cool dinosaur to have in the JW now because it’s just so different from the other giants we’ve seen.

Jurassic World broke $1,000,000,000 in 13 days…the fastest for any film in history.

I can already see Jurassic World 2 in the works.

A lot of shit I read about it stated they believe it probably walked on two legs, and four, depending on what was needed.

Pretty accurate

To be completely fair, we have no real definitive notion of how it truly walked. The two legged walk is argued against some due to the positioning of the legs and the altering of it’s center of gravity which would make it very difficult to even walk in that position. Even the quadruped movement is highly debated because others argue that because of the wishbone and the discovery of the furcala for the Spinosaurus that it would make motion for quadruped impossible.

At this point, your Assumption is about as good as mine, because the people who Proposed the New Spinosaurus have yet to publish their Final Paper on it, so at the moment we’re all rather left in the dark to get the complete full details of what they’ve gathered as evidence.

Even in a rumor that I was able to hear that Ibrahim et al during the SVP showed a Spinosaurus skeletal structure that was slightly different then the current publicly released Spinosaurus. The one in the SVP supposedly had slightly longer hind limbs, but shorter fore arms. More over during the SVP they had No Mentioning of Quadruped movement, and if this is true then once again it raises another eyebrow.

No, I cannot give you a direct source, because a SVP conference doesn’t allow Direct Media Access, so this is just a word of mouth that has spread throughout the “Dinosaur” world. I just really wished the Paper was released already so we can more Definitively Understand How It Walked, Waddled or whatever the real case may be.

Spinosaurus is definitely different from all of the other standard giant theropods, as to just how different…well, as Thomas Holtz said “Wait for the paper.”

Just came back from the movie a bit ago. Overall the thrills were fun and enjoyable. Chris Pratt’s character was enjoyable but everyone else felt very empty and cliche. The movie itself was riddled with cliches to the point that I felt like I was watching a SyFy Channel horror film. Walkie-talkies and cell phones not working at the worst times in a movie where technology is advanced enough to create Frakendinos. I felt like the movie could have benefited from some practical effects when it came to the dinosaurs but that’s just a personal gripe more than anything. I’ll spoiler tag the rest.

[details=Spoiler]Maybe I’m nitpicking here but much of the movie’s events just felt like everyone working at the park was stupid. I-Rex is missing off the thermal imaging system? Sure let’s just walk into the cage even though we have a transmitter right away rather than FUCKING CHECKING THE FUCKING TRANSMITTER FIRST. Why did the owner of the park pilot the helicopter? How do you not have any spare helicopter pilots? Why didn’t that gyrosphere thing the brothers were riding in have any kind of security override that brought them back to the ride entrance? Doesn’t seem very safe or efficient to me. In The Lost World, they talk about a tranquilizer dart so strong it’d knock out a T-Rex instantly… yet 20 years later the best non-lethal technology you have are still cattle prods and a net gun? Uh… okay.

I’m sure there were other things I’m forgetting but those ones stood out the most to me.

Overall it was a decent film. Better than Lost World and JP3 I guess. Not even close to being as good as JP1 though.

lol Spirit you named everything I had an issue with, as well.

For a park that was open to the public, and experiencing a dinosaur on the loose, I just never felt like the people in the park were in danger, until the pterodactyl’s got loose. I was hoping more for several thousand people, constantly in fear of dinosaurs and getting snacked on, not right back to the 2 kids and a couple of adults formula…

YAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSS
