Well if it’s so random then how come there is a degree of consistency in the amount of Demons he’s landing. And this is not just in SF4. He’s known for landing demons since 3S. He’s obviously got a knack for it or a inkling. A bit like Daigo and his psychic shoryukens.
And there’s no set rule to how to play this game. There are dozens of tutorials on the internet, which I think are just making people think They have to do X move in Y situation. And when someone goes off the path people think “wtf random”. This is not the best way play imo, you just become predictable. Even the mixups now days are calculated, “untech knockdown opponent, dash twice crossover tatsu”… as soon as I see a Akuma dashing after a untech knockdown - I just think “oh this guys been reading the forums - get ready for a cross over”. You have to have a element of freedom in and randomness in how you play. Can’t just be doing everything by the book.
lets say JR’s Demons are 100% random. He just pulls them out without even a inkling in his mind that he might land it, and no footsie play in his mind. it’s just purely random. … If he’s landing so many Demons this way, then possibly this is the best way to use WOTRD? I’m not saying that’s what happening. But I’m just seeing that he’s landing a lot of demons, and peopel are complaining because they look random. But he’s the one winning games, he beat Tokido and seems to do well with Akuma almost everytime he’s at Evo. So… Seems a bit stupid to knock his playstyle really.
Eh yeah, he also loses many matches because of whiffing raging demons and the way he misses them clearly shows he’s just throwing them out trying to get lucky.
Predictions dps aren’t the same as prediction demons. A lot of Daigo’s dps are to tell Ricky that he isn’t going to respect dive kicks as much as Ricky wants him to, but you can’t really use demons in the same way.
it’s kinda crazy how he got top 24 last year and 17th this year and still still gets so much hate. certain people even guaranteed [pre-evo] that he wouldn’t get out of his pool this year, because by this time, everyone knows his tricks and he couldn’t possibly place high at Evo :nono: … it seems only ShinAkuma204 has given him his due credit.
The way I see it years of experience reading people at fighting games > xyz tactics. Also his pressure is ridiculous once he gets going. Keep making them haters hate JR Good job. I can imagine the tall tales of jr’s akuma ,tokido is going to tell his friends about when he gets back to japan if he hasn’t already.
Also tokido doesn’t really adapt maybe he was on autopilot thinking he had everything on lock but I felt he decided to play solid and not adapt that his knowledge or skill would take him straight to finals. Not saying it’s bad tokido is godlike but I noticed it in his play against a rog and other people b4 he got to floe.
I love JR but come on, nobody was outplaying anyone in that match. It was pretty damn close.
Tokido was mixing up his defense and offence very well in that match but got pwnd by the JR special.
I didn’t say JR outplayed him by a ton…he outplayed him enough for the victory. obviously.
… JR was outplayed the second match and the beginning of the third match UNTIL JR landed the demon to change momentum.
He made that face when he did a forward air fireball landing RIGHT in front of JR, where all JR had to do, was ONE crouching jab for the win…so yeah, i guess Tokido regretted how stupid of a move that was. LOL.
actually now that i watch the videos i don’t even think JR won because of the demons… looks to me like tokido fucked up and JR capitalized on the fuckups when they were necessary. akuma mirrors can be like that though, games turning tides at an instant, so good shit to JR for staying on top there.
