lol dude iv seen machine come to a screeching hault. two sentinel supers at the exact same time + assists on the screen = the game was moving at 1 frame a second for like literaly 30 seconds.
if the online is playable, omg, i will bust a nut(real talk)
but if its not, oh gawd, ill prolly bust a blood vessel.
Street Fighter IV - The game everyone plays because everyone else plays it!
At least V-13 requires high execution unlike… oh wait, every character but C.Viper in SF4!
I would have liked to see how much I would have destroyed you guys had a played Sagat or Ryu!
Let the Flame Wars begin!
Lol but really, I’m just burned on fighting games but I still enjoy learning combo’s and trying to execute them. Blazblue has like 100 of those per character so it wins. I’m just more into the games than the scene I guess, where obviously most people play street fighter.
i dunno those characters require like…spacing, and mind games, rather than just trying to go into long combos
it isn’t your execution that suffers, nor is it the character, its just the defensive style of play and reacting to someone else’s style on the fly. this is why i wanted to take you to tournaments to see you in action, you have the potential to be great if you can incorporate your execution into real-life tournament performance
but if you aren’t that into the scene, then you just aren’t that into it…period…nothing wrong with that
but i think quite a few people would take exception to the argument that only c.viper requires execution. it takes execution to do a LOT of vital combos in this game. i’ll agree with anyone that says boxer is easy mode, no argument here, but plenty of characters require great execution and reaction time.
don’t take any of the shit talk here to heart or take it seriously, i think most of us were trying to provoke you into a response because you seemed too nice to talk smack back, when you had more than enough ammunition to do so…so i’m glad to see a response on that one! you dont have to respect us just because we’ve been in the scene longer or anything like that. it’s all about performance.
that said, i’m coming for you in bb. believe it.
I mostly don’t talk smack just because past experiences. Most all of my friends have gone away from competitive gaming all together and play things just for fun, mostly MMORPG’s. During Halo 1 we would have 4v4’s every weekend and it was all in the light of competition, it wasn’t REALLY the game, although the competitive nature of the game certainly helped. After WoW came out and stuff I would still try to be competitive in that and it just didn’t work out and I actually ended up playing the opposite faction to my friends on the exact same server. Which fueled me I loved killing my friends rather than having a tea party with them in the inn. (not really but the stuff they wanted to do were the same in my eyes) One of my friends told me to quit my character and restart ALL because I was passing him in levels when he had stayed up for 2 days strait, he seemed really mad over this competition I had tried to make. (it was the release of an expansion, and we were both the same class/race, we all rerolled as the same faction on a brand new server, so it was hard for me to find competition in any other way.)
But yeah bad things would happen just because I tried to make nearly everything a competition(which sometimes involved “smack talking” I guess), which sounds annoying, but it was what I was missing and I wanted it bad.
Not to mention when they do play competitive games like a fighter, they don’t seem to ever improve or even try (no offense to any of my friends that may read this :P) And I would hate to say it but I almost blame my self just because I made everything in the past a competition, and I always won because I had so much drive and they just didn’t for some reason. So when something comes up and my friends are competitive in it when I join it’s almost like it soon ends just because I’m participating. 3rd Strike is a good example. It probably started out with them being able to 60-0 my necro. But by the time we all quit I was 60-0’ing them and I see why we all quit BECAUSE THERE WAS NO COMPETITION! Again no offense to my friends.
LIFE STORY ASIDE! I’ve been looking for that good competition ever since Halo 1 and I can’t say I’ve ever gotten it since. I’m pretty sure I’m close to it by going to a fighting game tournament but I don’t feel like joining something only to quit it really soon. College… Work… getting a girlfriend, all that stuff is right in my way and it’s very close.
So with all that in mind Starcraft is something I can play over the internet that I feel I will still be able to find competition and a community without interfering with all the other crap life has. Until lifes crap comes I will definitely still play with you guys, no telling what will happen after that though.
It felt awesome when you said “I’m coming for you in bb”, no homo, competition is just amazing.
That’s pretty much it, oh and Blazblue is a better game, I dare you to play V-13, BELIEVE IT!
I would smack talk but my past has deprived me of the skills to do so! /emo
Edit: dude zingers are the coolest fireworks ever. There these little things that spin up into the air at at least 80 mph I would say, but when you throw them you get a different effect in that you don’t know which direction they are going to go.
I’d just like to give a nice hearty FUCK YOU to Weeks for asking me to stay up until he got home from KC (2:45 AM) so we can play, then calling and telling me he’s going to go to sleep.
if you had some balls you’d post up what you wrote
also don’t cry about it, you’ll get your chance later this week, promise
if i recall i said if you were still up, not 'please stay up for me until i get home so we can play’
mr ‘i havent been going to bed before 3am for awhile’
i drove to kc for games, i got games, i slept three hours, played more games all day and all night, drove home tired as hell, and then managed to find time for more games with triv
this is what the scene is about to me. plug in the controller and throw down at any time.
It’s okay to admit that SF just got beat out of you. If you would like a game with such high execution, MvC2 has always been there. I’m sure someone would be happy to play you. And this is hardly a flame war…just more tears and I have the cure for that.
OK Joplin, Tuesday, July 14th, if you guys are playing that day, I’m defiantly coming down to play. Gotta get that last minute pre-Evo training in. Also for those planning to come up in August for Oicho Throwdown, I’ve started a pre-reg list so just post what games you plan on playing in that thread and I’ll update it accordingly. Tnx and see you next week.
