I really don’t know, I haven’t read Viz’s work on Jojo.
If you are reading Jojo’s, your going to have to read fan translations online for the most part, Viz only did part 3 (wasn’t a terrible job as I remember though, I think there may have been some name changes to avoid copyrights though,it’s been a while)
Can’t tell you much I’m looking forward to seeing this, it’s been a long time coming.If the whole series remains mostly faithful(I don’t think they’ll be able to include everything) this will be a winner for me.
IMO, Dio’s at his finest , in terms of douche-baggery in Part 1, and overall, it’s a pretty tragic saga which sets everything in motion. I know Part 1 had an OVA, but apparently it’s pretty bad, so bad that Araki didn’t want it shown overseas or something, and seemingly nobody even wants to share torrents of it lol.

There’s some censoring like the book one character holds has pages of the Quran. Those where redrawn as where the mosques the main characters destroy in one of the stories. They where all redrawn by Araki for over seas in every market.

I’ve never seen the Quran until the people making the ova decided to make it so, then it attracted all that negative attention towards the manga. Dio is an immortal vampire, but that doesn’t mean he can’t read a book once in a while. He lives in a region of the world where that religion is practiced, so it makes sense. It was a foolish/ballsy move to SHOW the book in the anime though.

I just started Battle Tendency, Joseph is so unbelievably GLAM. It really peaked here in terms of over the top glam-ness.
Hahaha he really is. I love it tho. I can’t wait to use him in the new game. Gonna beat people with my big metal balls.

Just based on the trailers, it looks like they are keeping it as close to the story as possible as was written in the manga. Not sure if i can watch the first arc though, damn near cried when Dio killed Danny…fuckin monster…

Oh dear God…you’ve reminded me of the baby scene…fuuuuuuuuuuuudge. I forgot how brutal Jojo’s was. Any you guys remember the baby scene in Arc 1?
Yup, part 1 DIO was pretty evil.
Yeah, I remember that lol, that was awful. I can’t really say anything more than that due to spoilers, but yeah. Part 1 was proper raw and Dio was an absolute scumbag. The thing is, as much as I love Part 1, I think most newcomers to Jojo will find it dated(it was from the era of muscle-bound HNK-style mangas after all) and get turned off from checking out the rest of Jojo.
Has part 4 been redone yet? I still need to read that part.
Yup, I believe JojoProject’s working on Part 4 and Part 5. I need to finish Part 4 as well.
