Kosaku Kira’s Stand On J.B is also ridiculous. I ‘feel’ like Blonde Kira’s is more threatening but I have no concrete evidence to back that up other then I feel like it’s harder to beat, haha.

the first thing on the patch notes is “increasing the battle tempo by adjusting all character’s abilities.”

we will definitely be seeing changes to characters and their abilities. I pray to god they don’t get rid of taunt combos but I could see them getting rid of it :\

waiting to release my combo/tech video until after ver 1.03 comes out. I’ll be waiting with bated breath.

Sadly, while I think they are cool, taunt combos will likely be removed for 2 reasons:

  1. Grants infinites to some characters and acts as a general workaround for damage scaling.
  2. Disrupts the flow of battle, which is something they obviously want to tweak and hopefully increase the pace.

I like them, but I expect them to be gone. It’s also why I didn’t bother learning any of those combos yet. But if they decide to let them ride, I need to hit up the lab hard. lol

did you translate it yourself? someone else posted it as “Every character’s maximum health has been adjusted to help the game’s tempo.”

I did. But I think that person is totally right, I’m not familiar with the standard term usually used for health in games, but the kanji could totally be it. it just means like “stamina” or “strength (of the body).”

I didn’t notice the “body” kanji the first time I looked at it. sorry for the oversight, peeps. ._.

that being said, the last patch contained a bunch of character changes that were outside the simple notes that we were given about getting rid of infinites…etc. so I think we’ll see the same here.

So it seems that if you’re about to become a victim of Time Stop, you can somehow use a move with invincible startup just before TS takes effect and be completely invincible during the TS (at 1:37):

I’ve had no luck being able to replicate this with supers or specials so far though, using even the same characters and condition leading to the Time Stop. A couple times I managed to get the super to “activate” right as TS took effect just like in the video (as in the little grey text under the super bar indicating you just did a move shows up, but Joseph’s super freeze animation didn’t take effect yet), but DIO can still hit them during that point. One thing I noticed differently, in the video this grey text shows up after the TS freeze animation finishes (so basically a couple seconds after the person input the HHA motion), but in my practice I only get the message right as the freeze animation takes effect (as in the same time I finish the HHA input). Also, when I perform it, the meter gets used up as I do the motion (taking 2 meters in the process :/), but in the vid the meter doesn’t get used until Joseph is freed from TS. Anybody else want to give this a shot?

are you sure it wasnt the flash(red life activation) which made joseph invincible?


Glad to know I’m not the only one doing popoffs when I land supers.

Unless red/yellow life activation gives you invincibility frames that I wasn’t aware of, I doubt it. Plus, Joseph flashes white to go into the red life mode after he does his HHA on DIO (the cut-in image also shows up at the same time, right before he does the taunt).

What does time stop do if you are frozen in counter animations? Especially Diavolo’s GHA one?..

Just tried it. Nothing special happens, DIO/Jotaro can still hit Diavolo and other characters in the middle of a counter normally.

So are those Wham OTG taunt -> 421 or 2B mixups legit, or are they mostly just a gimmick to catch people mashing badly? Cause to me they look okay but kinda flaky to be more than a “sometimes” thing. Like Dio Brando and meaty 214A/B…do it sometimes, but not ALL the time, or you’ll get called out.
