Fooling around in practice mode for a bit when the cooldown got too long to wait out, I finally get why Valentine kinda sucks. Dude has jack shit for crouching combos in Soff. They REALLY need to make his gun projectiles hit crouching opponents, I think. Or at least give him a new PC’able Soff special or normal that forces stand. But really, I see no reason the gun shouldn’t hit crouchers; he needs a (carefully timed) puttsun to convert into a longer combo anyway, and it’s not like the gun is a super-safe move on its own.

How do you do Lisa Lisa’s super sidestep move? That’s the one move of hers I wasn’t able to figure out how to do just by mashing commands and aping YouTube.

Anyone got tips on Jotaro? I’ve been using him a lot lately and so far the only thing I know are the simple L,M,H to HHA combo and that Star Finger Unblockable Set-Up.

I was wondering for a bit as to what you meant by “press R”, then realised it was X (sidestep button) that you meant. Didn’t remember that they use “R” for sidestep in the movelist/controls page.

On a related note, can anybody breakdown what the ripple version of her enders do differently from the normal versions? Already figured the starting 236S does more damage and crumples, all the S enders do more damage, and her 6S ender does hard knockdown on the last hit instead of crumple like the normal version. So that would leave whatever special properties her 4S ender has (the overhead ground bounce finisher), as well as why her 8S (the jumping throw ender) has the “unblockable” yellow spark to it, even though it’s already a throw and hence unblockable?

does the overhead throw become an unblockable hit instead of a throw? because then it would catch jumpers as well.

The hit level indicator in training mode lists it as being a throw like the normal version, so that doesn’t seem to be case. Although I should mention that I forgot to test if you can jump out of the S version.

On another note, found an interesting vid showing that if you use certain GHA to guard break the opponent, the opponent doesn’t automatically get back a full guard gauge, meaning their gauge is still empty when the super finishes, so if you can catch them blocking right after the super, it’s a free second guard break (which restores normally this time). He mentions this only working for GHAs, but I wonder if there are an HHA that this could apply to as well under the right condition as well (so you could do something like guard break HHA x2 > guard break combo > HHA).

Not sure what he means by there being no reversal window though, wouldn’t characters with invincible startup specials be able to avoid this?

Does Wham have any puttsun combos worth doing? The only combos I really bother to do with my Wham right now are:

LMH 6H 421X pillar
LMH 6H 214AA Holy Sandstorm

I saw in a match that you can get at least a 6H from PC’ing his 623X…can you get a better string to juggle than that, or should I just try to do something like DP PC Holy Sandstorm or DP PC 6H pillar?

11th. Excellent. I’ve been wanting to make some character specific videos but I didn’t want to touch that until the patch, just in case. Thank you for the note.

I guess that’s general gameplay changes and stuff. Like the fix to the Stylish Dodge and whatnot? Would be weird to rebalance characters same week as new ones are out. Or are Vanice and Anasui some time in the future?

They did note that there would be “other adjustments” at the end of the list, so it’s possible that there could be anything from character specific changes to other general gameplay adjustments. They might put out a more detailed listing after it comes out like they did for the last patch.

Not sure about DLC character release date, the general assumption seems to be every 2 weeks for a new campaign, but I haven’t seen a concrete source saying that, and even the scan that came out this week apparently doesn’t have a specific date.

Is it just me or does Blonde Kira have an insane jM?..I’ve noticed it will hit funky sometimes; I’ve seen him land on the other side while it hits at the front and vice versa, or at least it appears to do so.
