JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle confirmed by Bandai-Namco

Bruno combo vid uploaded by ImShiawase:

Played a looong set of Bruno versus Kira2 the other day and really grew to enjoy Bruno, so damn fun and his toolbox is nice.

yeah ofc i go for the GHA once the opponent has no meter for a super/timestop, even if it’s not that easy i always try to get it that way. so you say if you PC the hard kick (QCB+C) you can get the ultimate form even if they have 1 meter to super/timestop?

getting the good angle is a pain, i avoid trying to get ulti form if the hard kick doesn’t launch them away enough

Puttsun Canceling the qcb+H definitely makes it safe against the three supers I mentioned in my post. I also went ahead and tested it against both Time Stops just now, and the transformation just barely outspeeds the Time Stop as long as you properly time the GHA to happen ASAP after the Puttsun. Cars obviously still gets Time Stopped, but it’s right after the mask crumbles and he gets his wings, so he’s considered in Ultimate mode at that point.

I think if Time Stop still had the speed it had at release, not even PCing the qcb+H would’ve been enough for Cars to get the transformation off.

Actually, yes he can. His 5C causes crumple, which means that overall he gets better non-meter damage than most of the cast. (Since it causes them to stand he end the combo with the anti-air grab against all the non-midgets.) His counter move is a good defensive tool since it covers every option and leads into a time stop. His j.c gives him a combo after an air to air hit. His anti-air grab special is a very good anti-air in a game with not many solid anti-airs. Every time stop leads to a free ambiguous which-way mixup with a properly spaced j.b, which leads to a combo that charges enough meter for the next burst.

If your friend is not utilizing all of these, he isn’t really playing Diavolo.

he plays him good enough imho (he’s maining him since release) but still i can win just doing “smart” choices like not going for long combos or waiting for him to come in etc… i find Diavolo more like “annoying” to play against than “hard”

and he doesn’t time stop, he deletes time which means once he presses a button i can do it as well and get a trade or throw tech… i remeber him trying to j.b after the deleted time but it wasn’t that useful to me :\

i’m not saying Diavolo isn’t good, just that imho he isn’t SSSS tier lol

Bruno is pretty fun. I really like his knockdown taunt combos because his Stand On 214Atk allows you to get a full j.H 5LMH XX 236H XX super after. The main problem is that most of the time you can’t get the proper spacing for the 214Atk to OTG after a hard knockdown into taunt, but if Bruno and his opponent are already near the wall, you can get the spacing for free:

(Stand On) 2L 5LMH XX 46H, 214+Atk Puttsun Taunt, j.H 5LMH XX 236H XX super

which is 526 for two bars of meter. That’s more than a lot of characters seem to get even for three bars.

Edit: Oh man, he can get the knockdown taunt combo off StandOn sweep even midscreen. I swear I tried that before, but maybe my Puttsun or Taunt timings were off.

While I’m talking about Bruno, I have a question about the properties of his StandOn 214+Atk. It might be in the video you linked, and I know I’ve seen it in another recent Bruno combo video, but they’re able to make the zipper stay out somehow and hit a second time, but nothing I’ve tried has been able to reproduce that. What am I missing here?

So Diavolo isn’t good because your friend doesn’t do what he should be doing after the burst, which is a real 50-50 mixup? Not going for long combos doesn’t matter since he gets what he needs after every burst anyway. He’s shouldn’t be looking for a punish but to prevent the damage and set up the mixup.

as i said he tried a few times for j.b mix up after burst but it wasn’t that effective, maybe he wasn’t good at it at all. i’m using diavolo myself as submain but still i feel he doesn’t deserve that tier list position :\ we’ll see once the game spreads more around, hopefully

Everything freezes so it’s not like there’s a problem getting the right position and timing… Just a matter of practice.

I actually meant 214A as 214+Attack, I should really proofread when it’s late. Anyway I was testing all strengths and it just wasn’t happening for me, I’ll give it another try later. Thanks for the reply.

Not so much a gameplay thing but is it actually possible to run your game data on another person’s ps3?

It didn’t work last time I tried but with all the japanese that gets spat at you on startup I figured that maybe I just pressed the wrong button somewhere.

That’s odd then, heavy was definitely working for me, maybe doing it too low?

Please tell me you can turn off those little “help notes” that pop up whenever you enter one of the game modes. Trust me, ASB, I know what Versus mode does by now.

im online right now would anyone like to fight

I told you this move is good

Besides Dio Brando, who takes the least time in this game to learn GOOD combos/setups with? I only get to play on the weekends, and I love playing DB, but I kinda want a pocket character just to say I have one.

I’d say Hol Horse. Really good, simple combos, and you can have a lot of fun with Hanged Man.

I can definitely co-sign Hol Horse.
Character is so simple it looks like I actually know what I’m doing.

Yeah Hol Horse easy as hell to use, when the game decides to let your inputs work at least.

I like using him but often don’t just because he is rather basic, and I miss my Capcom stuff like Cigarette normals and shattering glass. He feels one special short of a complete character to me.

Hol is easy, really? I never really tried him. I assumed he would be hella hard to pilot.
