Even in addition to the new stuff I found last night (the big one being 250 damage for a stand off puttstun combo that builds back 60% of the meter spent) I just had a major revelation about what I was doing and holy shit I need to get home, I wasn’t planning on streaming tonight but I think I can alter the S/on juggle I was doing to get waaay better damage by combining it with my puttstun> Red Bind crumple. IDEAS

You’re asking a lot for a game that just came out especially when a lot of older fighters (and some newer ones) didn’t “mature” until years after release.

Well if the purpose of combos is doing damage, then everything is going to be a “worse version” of what was removed, which are 100% combos, or meter positive half life loops. But at least now you’ll be able to play the actual game.

Although oki is stronger all around, super jumps are still 1F, so versus those characters you will need some sort of meaty setup that sets up a juggle punish.

Also shows some special moves that jump on frame one, curiously enough, they are all Mode characters, lol.

Are people really thinking this patch made the game worse? Come the fuck on.

you realize that there is a vast expanse between 100% combos/infinites and what we currently have. what you’re saying is incredibly reductive. people are acting like what they did was the only solution to the infinites.

for example, instead of making a limit on the number of times you could hit someone against they wall, they just completely removed the ability to combo after wallbounces. thereby removing some of the cast’s most interesting and rewarding combo options in the corner.

do you hate diversity or something?

btw, can anyone confirm whether you can still combo after throws? (for the characters who can set up traps on top of the opponent)

I never tried Avdol much before but I decided to give him a whirl post patch. Dude is fun, kinda cheesed I didn’t use him more before! lol.

The only thing that needs to come back is wall bounce followups, hopefully limited to just one. Everything else can stay gone or modified.

Am I missing something, was kakyoin originally considered OP? Cause he got hit pretty hard with this patch.

Obviously the delay on all moves after jumping fucked up his TK emerald splashes, also his jump back C (yoga sniper) which wasnt even that good to begin with since it didnt cause a knockdown.

His 22A/B/C traps have a smaller hitbox now, which im fine with… but they don’t bounce the player into the air as high as before. He used to be able to setup one of the traps, back throw an opponent into it, then after the bounce juggle into 5a,5b,5c,emerald splash.

Also regarding jolyne, you can no longer combo after stand rush canceling her air or ground 236c, yet other characters still can, like polnaref and his 623B!

What’s interesting’s that post-wakeup trap>taunt combos still seem to be in the game. Finally, GFAQs poster Rugahboi says Jotaro has unblockable meaty set-ups with Star Finger.
