The stream tomorrow will have two (at least two maybe more) exibition matches between the top 4 from the ASB league popularity poll: DIO vs Jonathan and Josuke(4) vs Buccellati
So yea guys. freaking hype, I hope its more then just two matches but getting to see high level CPU fight will probably be more entertaining (hopefully) then the random scrubs playing at the TGS demo. Thanks so much for all the Gyro info! He sounds like he could be really fun.

Also Pete, I could be wrong but I believe it was pointed out that Horses going over lows was only during them initially getting on the horse, clearly they can be hit by high or normals anyway. Wish there was more footage to confirm how Horse mode works, at the moment it still seems like the Style we know the least about (which is probably why its the most interesting to me besides my love for SBR).

Definitely hoping Diego Brando joins the cast also with Silver Bullet horse riding option and dinosaur horse transformation.

So, I noticed this in the TGS vids too, but apparently ripple users have EX Moves. I’ve not seen any other mode yet have special moves that become ex moves- you can tell, they glow blue and it uses about 50% meter. Johnathan’s EX Fireball launches, and I noticed from the TGS vids that Joesph’s EX Clacker Boomerang shoots two projectiles instead of one. With the somewhat low damage of HHA’s, EX moves that may allow longer combos + puttstun cancels, I am getting this gut feeling that HHA’s might be pretty useless for some characters unless the combo system just absolutely dosen’t scale them. (which is fine either way!)

In fact, just watching those fights, just looking at that string into Overdrive Barrage that Johnathan did… you could probably get a lot better damage for the same meter cost doing something like

stringxxoverdrive barrage PC string Ex Fireball into whatever this game will allow for air juggles lol

Oh yeah, and jump arcs look much faster and useful now. It’s like a night and day difference from TGS.

Didn’t notice it when I first watched it, but Bruno came back to life with a small bit of health near the end of his match.

It’s a nice reference to himself in pt5 and all, but it didn’t cost any meter. Though I guess that’s alright considering how little health he gets back?

I love seeing Josuke’s fix and repair OTG (1:41) that he can use later as a teleport (1:49). Great to see an actual match, speed of the game seems pretty good considering this is probably low difficult CPU.

yeah, I seriously hope they crank up the difficulty on the CPU for the other matches… there were times when they were just staring at each other. it was a nice taste to see neither tension nor prepared mode are broken as well as DIO’s special life being tame.

One of the things I’m most concerned about is the dodge mechanic. I haven’t figured out from any of these videos quite how it works, if it avoids all moves from a certain frame period then is vulnerable, if some moves will hit it, whathaveyou. Damnit there’s so much I want to test.

I know its not the same, but I was always hoping it was just similar to the original CPS3 dodge. I have heard some characters have gotten hit out of dodge though with certain attacks. Someone uploaded small snippets of Okuyasu and Rohan from the stream, the director (cosplaying Rohan) and comedian guest they had on talk about their respective favorite characters:

There’s a decent chance that what we are hearing musically are character themes. I like Rohan’s voice actor here a bit better, I wasn’t digging it for him before. Okuyasu looks freaking fun though.

Whoa, so they’re doing character themes for ASB, eh? I just assumed it was the standard, “stage theme” thing. That’s pretty cool.

Oh and Okuyasu is too awesome. Fuck fist barrages, we curb stomp folks now!

The music during Josuke vs Bruno is apparently similar to a song from the Sticky Fingers album, and Bruno’s on player 2, so…

Weird, I assumed that would’ve been Josuke’s. The music seems kinda…upbeat for a stern and serious guy like Bruno.

Whatever, still cool though.

Yeah, but the music in Jonathan vs Dio is without a doubt Dio’s theme (if there are character themes and not stages), so I think it has to be Bruno’s theme. It’s a bit odd, but it sounds nice.

EDIT: Thought I’d posted it here but apparently I didn’t. Here’s my analysis of the two matches we got to see:

Melone, Daniel D’Arby (Terence is in too, but not confirmed if playable), Emporio Alnino and SPEEDWAGON.

Yo I’m hype for the D’Arbys. I’d think Terence would be more of a pick for a playable char over Daniel, so if they made Daniel playable, I’m guessing Terence will have to be playable too. Also WTF SpeedWagon playable? Hat throw lol.

Seems like weird choices… are we 100% sure they’re playable? I could see them as stage hazards or announcers or something.

Ultimately don’t care, just seems like odd choices for playable characters…
