What’s wrong with sugiyama? He did a good Buccellati. The part 5 section was freaking perfect to me. I just wish Rohan’s actor used a deeper voice like when he does Trafawlgar law in One piece. Though his taunt sounded great the first line he says though as Rohan I thought felt way to soft. I wish they would tease new character but the alt colors on jolyne an Hermes look great! This trailer was filled with Easter eggs
nothing’s wrong with sugiyama; he’s a talented voice actor. I think the point where he doesn’t work as buccellati is when his voice is under duress/he’s yelling/belting.
it just gets that nasally quality that seems a little out of character for bruno. the calm parts, I think he works well, but I felt like takahiro sakurai was perfect as buccellati in the capcom part 5 game. still, his moveset looks great from the limited footage we’ve seen. he’s got them zipper dashes, a move where it looks like his spirit is enduring after he’s dead (I was HOPING they would include this. some sort of level 3 super if you die, he comes back with some health and super armor but he will automatically lose after a short timer).
anyways, I can’t wait for that goddamn tournament! I want to see some ACTUAL footage of these characters played. I really hope characters we’ve already seen footage of don’t make the cut (cept maybe jotaro since i’m biased :3 )
Pfft Jotaro. Give me Gyro! Dammit. I want to know more about the Horse riders since Steel Ball Run is my favorite arc. I’m really hoping they are good or at least useable.

Ohhh man, that is way too funny. I can’t believe how crazy they went! Every time a new character appears they completely lost their shit all over again. I had no idea Jojo’s is so popular with girls in Japan. So fabulous. So, so fabulous.
I absolutely cracked up at the part where that one chick starts screaming “Kakkoii~!!! KAKKOII~!!!” at the top of her lungs. (Japanese word that girls use to describe a really cool/handsome guy.) She was crushing so hard that I got a little misty-eyed for her. Even across languages and cultures, that teenage estrogen hype is overpowering, you know? It warms the cockles of my heart.
Apparently there’s a different camera angle that lets you hear the screams of the Kakyoin fan club when he comes on, but I’ve only seen ones with the regular crowd screams.

You know, I’ve had so many thoughts running through my head thinking about the amount of hilarious animated gifs I can make with that scene! Indeed, that was the best and funniest part of that whole trailer.
It is killing me that there’s no news on a US release as of yet. I am not a follower of the anime- but after looking at the mechanics thread on the jojo forums posted a few pages back, I /need/ this game in my life. It sounds fucking amazing.
It’s going to be rough getting this game over here, with all the music references everywhere that could cause legal issues over here that Japan wouldn’t have to bother with.
I think they could simply switch the L’s to R’s, vice versa basically phonetically translate the iffier references. The Capcom team changed a LOT of names to get it past to the US. I hope we have some higher ups on our side fighting for ASB because it does have potential to be something great, especially for the hardcore english speaking JoJo fans not to mention the FGC.
Regardless I’ll play the hell out of it, but for story mode and getting to out to my friends I’d really love a western release.

Does anyone know exactly what the rotation gauge for Gyro does? All the game play footage out there, no one ever raises it with the dd+attack command, and as much as I’ve watched the TGS vids, I really can’t see any difference in damage or the way the balls act, regardless of whether the gauge is full or empty.
I have no idea what it does except that it drains over time apparently. I also don’t know what Wham’s ‘I’ll see by feeling the wind’ does either. Hopefully the ASB League helps out with these.
My guess is either A. it wasn’t finished yet, B. the people playing didn’t know how to play, well we know that later part. Since Gyro is one of my favorites and I plan on maining him I really want to see more gameplay from him.
i was really interested in Gyro too, out of the four characters showed at the TGS. I was really bored at work and i wrote up what i thought things were based on the movelist on frametrap.com and my own observations.
Appears to have a very fast overhead normal of some kind. looks unseeable. it’s definitely not the command normal ‘hardening of the skin’, so it’s probably a neutral medium/strong attack. haven’t seen anyone cancel it yet.
‘hardening of the skin’ freezes Gyro in place and drains gauge slowly. saw it autoblock Jotaro’s standing attack, but it didn’t do anything else… does Gyro have to manually do something afterwards to cancel it? Or is it just like the Hamon user’s Ripple Guard? i’ve seen Gyro get hit twice from letting it go, wondering if he’s vulnerable once you stop pressing back+S.
Has a string from his crouch A. Perhaps this is normal for all characters though? He can go into Spin!Spin! from this, so either the string has a canned special move at the end or you can special cancel chains. It’s definitely not his easy beat.
Has a gauge called the ‘rotation gauge’. No idea what it does. Constantly goes down. Inputting dd+attack makes it go back up, and it can be done on horseback. probably affects ‘Spin! Spin!’ somehow
I am wondering if the rotation gauge determines how long the steel ball stays out?
Gyro seems primarily based around ‘Spin! Spin!’, which throws a steel ball in one of three directions (straight forward, diagonally upward, diagonally downwards), where it then rotates and hits the enemy if the enemy is on it, then returns. Second input throws second ball. Can also be done from the horse. Both shots combo, direct forward Spin!Spin! is duckable. It looks like using ‘hardening of the skin’ will also return balls on the field, and turn them into boomerang style attacks as they do so.
“I’ll really drop them~” does just that, it drops both balls to the ground on either side of Gyro. Not sure what else it does, it’s pretty fast but you lose both balls and i can’t see it really hitting afterwards… maybe it’s an overhead?
“Uryaa!” throws a ball and it creates a whirlwind after a bit. holding the button changes the distance according to the movelist. this seems pretty damn useful.
his HHA seems pretty weak, but can combo from a lot of stuff. I wonder if it’s damage is affected by the rotation gauge.
His GHA summons his horse when not on it, increasing the startup time kind of like “THE WORLD”. I wonder if the command while already on the horse is instant? I’ve also never seen the GHA blocked…
Horse has
-a low that launches enemy and can be cancelled into HHA
-some sort of circular bucking attack that combos, knocks down, hurts. looks like this is his special move ‘Go ahead and let yourself go!’, his DP in horseback. Does this mean this move has invincibility or super amor?
-overhead stomp
-various silly looking pokes
-two-hit charge that cannot be stepped? Jotaro ‘stylish move’ blocked the first hit and got hit by the second. is this ‘this headwind came from mexico!’? Can it be blocked? saw jotaro try to jump attack it in another vid, he got beat out cleanly
only certain upwards reaching attacks knocks Gyro off the horse.
i’ve never seen the horse block… he might not be able to, the gyro player was clearly blocking when not in Horse. Gyro might be built around using the Spin! Spin! to cover himself while he goes into Horse to force big mixups, rinse, repeat?
work gives me lots of time to over analyze, basically. i need this game.
The horse goes over lows Petshop style, so not being able to block in it might be fair. The charge being ‘this headwind came from mexico’ would make sense, as well, since he says that while using the spin to buff his horse’s speed with the wind.
My assumption was that hardening of the skin was like ripple guard, and just stopped chip damage at the expense of meter, but of course its possible I’m entirely wrong.
I am ravenous for the ASB League footage. just one more day–!!

I just want to see some gameplay. It’s kinda weird the game’s been announced for so long and all the uncut footage we have is at it’s first showing at TGS last year. Flashy trailers are cool and all, but I just want to see some legit gameplay!
