P.S I love you, Andy.

sounds more like reveLAMEtions if you ask me

This thread has just become people trying to prove they aren’t bullshitters for some reason.

Gonna go ahead and say this thread should be unstickied because it’s crumbled into petty bickering that can be resolved over PM’s!

Nah keep it stickied. This needs to be out there for everyone to read.

On this note, I will quote the sticky “Rules of FGD” by Preppy:
"3. Be part of the community. Do not create a thread until your account has been here for a month. Hang out, visit the Newbie Dojo, get to know how things and people work. If you REALLY want to create a new thread but are a new account, PM a mod. Low quality or troll threads will tend to get locked without notice. If a thread sucks, you do not need to post that it sucks. Just don’t post in it.

  1. You get one shot at somebody. This is a very passionate community and tempers do flare up. If somebody posts an insult, you get one post to reply. Anything further should be moved to private messages. If it continues past this first post, both parties will get infracted on a per posts basis, which can quickly add up to a ban. We appreciate good natured … “criticism” but these threads are not boxing rings. We will not tolerate any threat made towards any member of this community. Any threats on the forums or through PM will result in banning. Generally, criticism that pertains to the thread will be more tolerated. Outright flaming should go to private messages. Anybody whose contributions solely consist of attacking others will likely be banned: don’t make a habit of this. It’s a community: act like you’re part of it.

  2. You get to reply to a derailing comment once. Derailing can happen naturally in conversation and it is similar in threads. You get one reply. If you want to discuss it further create a thread for it here if it concerns FGD, if not take to GD. If someone frequently derails threads: Report them and the mods will warn them.

  3. Don’t derail or metamoderate. Someone on the internet is always wrong: let it go. If you feel the need to attack someone, you damned well better be sure to educate them as part of it."

It doesn’t help when one of the people who might be able to shed some light on the other side of the story refuses to, while citing a post by some random nobody agrees with as a reason.

I imagine it would stay at the top anyway because it’s still an active thread. But it’s been viewed 82,000 times already so what contingency are going to miss it if it gets unstickied on a Tuesday? I’m just saying having a stickied topic implies it’s of crucial importance to the site, but it’s degenerated :frowning:

Apart from the fact that i broke rule 9 (apologies) seems like various individuals have broke all the others, not sure if you’re for or against me here, ambiguity is a bitch on text forums! Apologies if i’m overstepping my boundaries though.

don’t think that us mods aren’t watching

as for why it’s stickied, w/e deal with it it’s not often anyone comes to FGD in the first place

Judging by the prejudice in this thread, it would do no good to give my non-biased opinion. Just continue jumping to conclusions based on conjecture and bias. I probably wouldn’t have even read this thread if my name wasn’t dropped. Wong and several others specifically told me not to read this thread. I should have listened.

Not exactly a concrete reason but i guess i’ll start following the rules a bit more closely!

hello

this thread makes me ashamed to be a part of the FGC. not only by the accused actions of John Nelson but also from the juvenile behaviour of many of you guys posting. the FGC has a very diseased mentality that is spreading dangerously like wildfire.
the FGC is one big bundle of negative energy and its getting bigger by the day.
close the thread please and lets get back to doing what we do best, playing Fighting Games.

While I would like to keep this thread stickied until a resolution is reached, this was not in any way an attack against you. You were right so I felt it would be helpful to remind everyone else about the point you were bringing up

That’s unfortunate you, Justin, and the others feel that way, but again I appreciate you at least coming by and having your presence felt. I am a huge fan of yours and the other top players who did attend Rev2012, and I, in no way, meant for this thread to be an attack or call out against the players. Actually the sad thing is, if I recall correctly, your name was only dropped in relation to the NOS girls incident, not TL or JN directly. I think people were questioning Justin and Champ more. Anyways, take care and keep making godlike streams!

While I agree it is unfortunate how some people have approached this thread, the very core of the topic is negative. And yes, while it is unfortunate there have been so many negative things popping up around the FGC in the past year, I feel this topic is an important one that needs to be addressed, especially given that Rev 2012 isn’t just a SoCal tournament, and that many of the accusations being brought up aren’t even in the year 2012.

However I am not a mod and as a user of the forums I will respect any decision a mod will make regarding this thread.

I like the underdog, or the black guy.

psst a good way to not be considered an asshole that posted in here for nothing would be to not attack honzo (no matter how much he may or may not need it), and post facts about what has gone down at the event so it’s not just “hearsay and bias and prejudice”

if your words are possible to be misconstrued then it’s a problem with how you phrase them

Yet you have now posted 5 times in this thread.and said essentially nothing. How is that any better? You have called people out, accused people of saying false or misleading things, and won’t even back up your statements. That is hypocritical at best and cowardly at worst.

It’s a thread on a message board. Of course there is going to be some contradiction and inaccuracy, because it is a communication medium involving a lot of different people. But for you to throw around the accusations that you have without offering any kind of support or explanation, all while painting everybody in this thread with a broad brush, means you are doing the exact same thing you are accusing others of doing.

Not only should it stay stickied until a resolution is reached, may I suggest adding to the OP as more people add their experience regarding this whole debacle? There’s going to be some back and forth inevitably but you should not let that keep posts like AndyOCR’s from getting lost in between all the fluff.

RedRapper and JN need to settle this in the proper way for this community: money match that shit.
