anyone notice an increase in Tagers that just turtle all match?

Man I know what you mean. You know i follow up with run up 5C after the ice spike sometimes. But usually it’s invalid because of the lag. So i hit 6C early hoping for the lag delay to come in and usually get a valid combo after that. But you’re right though I might start getting used to 6C after ice spike. So i’ll just ride out the lag and use run up 5c.
Also about the 6D. Meh I love trying out that move in block strings. nooone uses it. And because of the people poke into it. and it’s like +12 on block? people always
mash on that too. Leads into a free 5BB. You know what we need? Moar random 6A sekkajin combos!

Hey guys, I was in training mode, trying to work on some good corner combos, when I came across this. (In the corner) 623D(hold D) -> wait till their just about to hit the ground and release D -> 6C -> 6D -> 5C -> 9 -> j.B -> j.C -> JC -> j.B -> j.C 5200+ damage, 25% heat. Sorry if this is old. I checked on Dustloop and couldn’t find it, just figured I’d share.

all u had to do was read:china:

that wasnt the problem

turns out i wasnt falling short. i just needed to wait a split moment before finishing with crystal strike

OOoOoOoOHH got ya

Looks like I’m becoming a Jin player. I mained Nu, then played as Noel, but I’m starting to like Jin. No homo.

Can I get some Nico Nico/youtube vids of Ren or Buppa?

Yo J-Nav hit me up for some PSN games and we’ll go through Jin strats. I got a Mic if you want to go over advance strats.

Zeal:

Tried to incorporate more 6D in block strings but I’m getting punished for it too much. I think people are just reacting to it natural so I think the spacing on 6D block strings is pretty critical but I guess you need to guage the character and opponent.

In other news I found a good block string but it does have flaws to it.

Anything that leads into 5D then 236A, 2D.

Basically, 236A to follow up after 5D to cancel the recovery time on 5D then depending on whether you opponent blocks 236A you can do 2D or dash in with 2D. 2D gives you good frame advantage on block so you can follow up with a rush in for another block string or poke with 5C, 5D. I haven’t seen 5C, 5D punished when IB’d but it’s probably possible. There are flaws to this block string as your opponent can IAD over the 236A but you can bait it for 623A/B/D or they can jump backwards to avoid it altogether. If they jump back you can dash in with 2D. If the opponent blocks all of these D’s it cranks the guard libra like crazy. Putting them in the corner with this sets them up for guard crush strings with 5D pokes from a safe distance and puts Jin in the perfect distance to punish IAD or jumps with Fubuki. This gives Jin good corner control and sets him up for any one of his corner combos that will lead into his oki game. Keep in mind your opponent can anticipate on the Fubuki and IB/Barrier Guard it and then find a way out.

Yeah, for sure. I got a mic too…

The ‘Ken’ of BB

From what I have been reading, everyone seems to be complaining about Jin. This is both a surprise and disappointment to me.

It is a surprise because I have only run into an average amount of Jins…I tend to fight many more Ragnas and even see more Rachels than Jins.

It is a disappointment because he is my main and Ken from SF4 is the bane of my existence. I don’t want to be Ken!

That said, I have got a private message commending me on not being an ice car spammer - but I still lost that match :stuck_out_tongue: Still, I know how I feel every time Ken comes up in online SF4, I don’t want to be causing that kind of anguish.

Oh and I play on the PS3.

if yo play a good jin, you shouldnt have to worry, also playe whatever char you like despite if he is the “ken” of BB

and btw, useless thread

merged to proper section.

People always complain about the Ice Car spam but you know what it’s their own damn fault for falling for it. You use what works for you and if they fall for it then keep doing it until they learn to punish. If they want to call you a scrub then they too are a scrub for their lack of skills to punish/avoid whatever tactic is beating them. Ice Cars are -9f on block so they have plenty of time to punish on block and their stupid if they fail to punish in time.

Let the people whine about Jin all they want if you prove your superiority with your skills then as a Jin player you have nothing to be ashamed about. I’ve been in voice chat rooms where people bitch about my Jin being scrubby even though I’m doing 12 hit combos, punishing them with oki games, guard crushing them with pressure strings, cross-ups, etc… They’re only bitching because of their lack of skills to overcome Jin’s strategies.

I don’t use Jin myself but always welcome a good Jin to fight with, I tried him and practice some BnB, solid and fun character.

I don’t think the complain for ice car are that they can’t deal/win against it but rather have to fight ice car C mashing Jin at all. I was looking for some practice from ranked match but facing a ice car Jin just kinda a waste of time. (Ice car, 360 rinse repeat…a useless win)

Good Jins are another story, love fighting those.

The netcode in BB is good enough that spamming throws and ice cars and mashing c really isn’t a problem to face… At all.

You have to understand that the people who just spam the same moves are probably playing the game have fun rather than being competitive. So if they don’t want to invest the time to getting better than you really shouldn’t rage at their play style. Beat them get it done and over with and move onto the next match. If you feel it necessary to comment on their play style then give them tips rather than call them a scrub. Pissing other people off doesn’t help the situation at all.

Also, does anyone else feel that if you do 2 5D’s in a row the second 5D feels like it has less startup frames? Seems like it the 2nd 5D comes out faster than usual but maybe that’s just my imagination.

I don’t feel pissed at ‘them’ myself but I rather play others, they are like flow chart Kens/ D spamming Noel. Fighting them are just not much fun, I am playing for fun also.

IMO this is more the main reason that people ‘complain’ ice car Jin rather than actually ‘hate’ the players themselves.

I blame the flawed ranked system…

I’m not directing this towards you when I say get angry at other players. I’m referring to those who do get angry against flow chart Jin’s. Also, keep in mind your definition of fun is differnet from less skilled players. I mean for us the most fun is playing against someone who can challenge our skills to new heights. For a Ice Car Jin they just want to play the game and probably don’t care as much about their own skill level. Thankfully those matches against them are fast and you can move on to something better. In this kind of venue you’re going to have to take the good with the bad.

Agree. Anyways I am hoping for a better ranked system or fix the damn player match system…give us a ‘Wait’ option to join a lobby while the match haven’t been finished.
