If you want to survive with Chris on point you NEED Haggar’s assist. He compliment’s Chris in SO many ways.
I recommend having them in your 1-2 spots, with a solid anchor character, preferably one with a projectile assist that can help Haggar after Chris is knocked out.
Cambosam, you forgot his mine/grenade to begin combos. Mines shut down divekicks well.
Ya, I use Chris/Tron/Akuma atm. Really awesome team. Same concept, good dhcs, one of the better anchors. Still trying to figure out which Chris assist to use though. Been using grenade.
Heeeey thats my team, although I run tron on anchor instead. The dhc synergy is pretty cool since tron and akuma are two of the few characters who can dhc into chris. I might try out your order though, cause I really didn’t like tron as an anchor.
good anchors are necessary if you plan on losing your first 2 characters. my gameplan is to kill teams of three with the first 2 two characters and haggar’s last for his assist and time to recover his life. haggar’s assist just prolongs their life so much that i feel like i have an extra bar of energy everytime he interrupts my opponents offense.
haggar’s major weakness is keepaway so the plan with this team is to kill the keepaway characters first with chris and akuma. haggar becomes an anchor when he no longer has to face any keepaway characters.
the major reason why i favor haggar over other gtfo assists is because he causes a hard knockdown. so even if chris and haggar were to trade hits with another point and gtfo assists like hyper armor hsien-ko i’ll recover fast enough to jump otg combo the opponent.
lol I don’t think anyone plans to lose their first two characters, but fact of the matter is its gonna happen, you are gonna be straddled with a haggar vs a dormammu or ammy or deadpool or everyones favorite phoenix. Things don’t always go according to plan, so you gotta build your team considering every possible outcome. So to avoid it I either pick a team where all of my characters are at least decent as anchors(chris/storm/dante) or switch up my order to reduce the chances of my weakest character being my anchor.

yeah you’re completely right. i’ll admit i’m just not that good with haggar yet to play with him on point with or without backup. the above strategy is my current team strategy and will change as i get better with my teammates.
I was thinking of doing a she hulk slide, chris gun fire, storm whirlwind team. Lots of health for first two characters. Im hoping the two different styles of she hulk and chris might mess with people. I currently play she hulk but want to add chris because hes a BAMF, and I feel like storm might be good. Also considering as anchor Dante weasel shot, Arthur dagger throw, and of course sentinel drones, maybe even akuma tatsu but idk. thoughts appreciated
Funny little DHC with Chris and Haggar. DHC’ing into Haggar’s lvl 3 after chris shoots his up grenade launcher, or before he launches his RPG in sweep combo might be well known, but during chris’s sweep combo, right after the second baton hit, there is BRIEF moment where their guard stops. It’s so small you can barely notice it if you aren’t looking for it. If you DHC at ths moment it is basically unstoppable and 100% unexpected.
She-hulk and chris is a good combo imo. Her dhc into chris’s knife does a lot of damage. Gun fire assist helps she-hulk close some distance on zoners. Hii-health is good. I use she-hulk’s somersault kick for assist though because it helps chris more imo. It gives him a decent anti air option and something I just started working with is that it is also a good cross over counter if you are blocking too much.

Anyone else try Chris, Trish, Doom? Trish’s Peekaboo and Doomrocks are godly assists for Chris. Peekaboo is excellent after a throw and Doomrocks complement other hard knockdowns well, for flame-throw, sweep combo. Also, peekaboo is a good anti-air, while doomrocks are versatile as a projectile and a complement in long combos. Nasty.
Never considered it cause I find those 2 characters extremely bland personally. But I can imagine peekaboo and molecular shield would be real good for chris.
Anyone think Chun would benefit Chris in any way? I’m only wondering because I’ve put quite a lot of time into her and Dante and it would be great if the 3 could go together well (I know Chris and Dante are great together). I can’t see any way she could help Chris myself but maybe you guys know something I don’t (it’s really late where I am and I can’t see myself playing for a while, so I can’t test it out myself :P).
Right now I’m running Chris gunfire or mine/Shulk torpedo/Hulk AAA and Chris gun or mine/Shulk AAA/ Arthur daggers.
The Hulk team I’ve been using the most. Hulk AAA works well for Chris, Shulk torpedo doesn’t do much for him, but it lets Hulk add ~200K to his combos. Chris gunfire is decent in helping both Shulk and Hulk approach, or mine as a good tool in making blockstrings safe and keeping people off, so kinda torn between the two. The only problem I have is comboing after throw or air series, OTG c.:h:. Hulk can combo off of it with AAA, but that’s it, no followups, and the THC is pretty bad. OTG shot to Hulk AAA does give me time to lay down a mine or grenade though.
Basically my plan is to use Chris to build meter, then get Shulk or Hulk in and wreck house with said meter. Any DHC off a Shulk combo can do 900K+ or I can go for resets. With 5 bars I can also opt to throw out her air grab hyper or lv 3 more frequently too.
I like the Arthur team as well, plays better keepaway for Chris with daggers and IMO Arthur is a solid anchor, especially with meter. Bonus in that I can combo off OTG c.:h: too. The only downside is that I can’t really do the raw damage like I can with Hulk team.
Has anyone tried Chris (Alpha Assist), Storm and Dorm? One all have assists that help each other zone very well, and two this team can set up some hilariously good THC’s (like, doing 950K just by doing basic c.L c.M S Air M M H S A1+A2). Even if you only have two bars or two characters this still ends up doing over 650K.
Well andrew uses the exact team, there are some vids of him in the, surprise surprise, video thread. Its in the UCI vids, he either goes by andrew or az, go check him out, he might show you some shit you didn’t know off.
I know someone pointed out using Ryu’s Shoryuken Assist after c.H otg, has anyone else experimented with Ryu or found any good chemistry between the 2 characters? He’s the closest I’ll get to Ken in this game ;_;
