Consider Chris/Haggar/Phoenix. Has potential in my opinion.

Yeah it does. Chris n haggar work well together so you can have either on point. Furthermore they both have loads of health and are both efficient batteries.

Hey guys I wanna use chris on anchor. Is this suicide? I know BUM does an awesome job of playing him on anchor but when I play him I’m just ehhh. Granted, I don’t know the character all too well yet but I really wanna make this team work, any tips or suggestions on what I should do when he’s all I have left?. Btw my team is Haggar (Lariat) Spencer (Slant Grapple) and Chris (Sub-Machine Gun)

There is no reason to put Chris on that team last. Spencer last, Haggar or Chis on point depending on matchup.

My team is based on Haggar though, those assist are for him. But maybe I should play Chris on point for a while just to figure him out and such. But other than that I’ll try Spencer on anchor thanks for the advice!

You’ll like Chris, and he’s amazing with Haggar behind him.

What about running Chris (Gunfire)/ Captain America (Charging Star) / Taskmaster (Up Arrows) as a team?

I feel it has some good anti spam potential.

I’ll say the same thing my friend who is a much better Chris then I says. It can be hard but Chris can do it. That said. in the team of Chris Haggar and Spencer, Nathan has the best chance out of the three to successfully anchor up. not only that but Spencer’s slant shot can help both of them like landing full RFF with Haggar or even a Piledriver reset, and Chris can get full grenade launcher like I think GC Yoshi does.

Chris or Haggar first depending on matchup. you’ll want to get into the habit of planting land mines. once a land mine or fire nade is out you are likely already in control of any of his favorable matchups.

Remember that Flamethrower can be canceled. did it get push blocked? xx to Landmine or Shotgun.

Use Task normal arrows for assist. if the situation is a guy that likes to stay in the air where Chris has a problem (Trish) switch out to Cap or Task. task Up arrows should be used when Task is on point. example.

on incoming welcome. task up arrows. call chris or Cap, Task up arrows, task arrows for chip.

How do you guys feel about chris/nemisis/dante or nemisis first?

Neither Chris or Nemmy is is a good anchor so this is kinda forcing Dante third. I dont know much about Nemmy though…

Chris Should be able to protect Nemesis as an assist (clothline rocket I assume is what you are using here).
Nemesis and Dante will definitely benefit from Gun Fire.

Nemesis or Chris should be first, the sole deciding factor being who you are up against first. I suppose Nemmy can chip with Chris and TK Rocket launcher or use Gunfire to setup some Dirty Noodles?

I switched something up on my team.

Chris (Boulder Punch) Dante (Jam Session) Strider (Vajra). After practicing with Strider on point (because we all know he gon get snapped in eventually) I find Chris’ gunfire to be useless for Strider in terms of combo extension. I tried Boulder Punch and found it to my liking.

an example of a basic string I would do:

crL M H fwd+H S M M H S call Chris, df+H (chris hits with boulder punches) QCF + S twice
crL M H fwd+H S M M H S call Chris, df+H (chris hits with boulder punches) Legion, hard tag Dante
(corner) crL M H fwd+H S M M H S call Chris, df+H (chris hits with boulder punches) S M H S Call Dante df+H, Excalibur M

These allow me to deal some damage and either Get Strider out of there or finish off a target. At the same time, I have Chris available as an invincible Crossover Counter.

EDIT: I am considering changing Dante’s assist to Weasel shot. Its good for Strider. And I am certain that it can help Chris chip which I enjoy doing.

My question here is: I use Strider to AA for Chris. is Weasel Shot’s lockdown utility for Chris worthwhile for him vice Jam Session? I already have one AA assist with Strider and lots of times I’ve had Dante eaten for a bad jam call.

How they get kind of stun/locked into the corner for a free combo.

Call the assist then dash forward to put as much distance between you and sent as possible, also, call him when the opponent takes to the skies so they have to land on them. Don’t call them while you’re being mercilessly pressured (especially by a character with big normals) and don’t call them when you’re trapped in the corner.

I do not, I just did it kinda on accident.

When you do a double super, strange’s super hits them into the air rocket and they get blasted back down and hit by the electric one, it leaves them in a really long stunned state with 100,000 damage and zero hits on them. You get like ~1-2 marvel seconds to hit them.

I hopped into the lab to check this out and I think I know what’s happening. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s anything.

What’s happening is that the up grenade hits and causes a soft knockdown (they’ll fall all the way to the ground, but recover immediately), the third grenade misses, the dummy recovers then gets hit by the last grenade in the super. The three horizontal grenades all cause hard knockdowns, massive hitstun and 100k damage raw. It’s the effect of a reset, but if you were to set the dummy to techroll out or block when it recovers, it wouldn’t get hit.

Ok; so i am proud to say that I finally went to a local tourney and supported the commmunity so im no longer just a stream monster or online warrior. I was hella nervous but managed to make it past the first round and lost the other two sets in down to the wire sets. after experiencing these first time tourney jitters i know i could have done alot better if i had more match experience and wasnt so nervous that i dropped my bnb’s. so now i need to start researching matchup knowledge. Since i run a team of Captain America (charging Star), Chris Redfield (gunfire), and Taskmaster (H. Arrows) im asking for insight into the following matchup situations regarding Chris in both situations of being alone and with any of the aforementioned assists:

  1. Wesker - teleporting while covered by beam assists. on incoming after a snap back or character death
  2. Spencer - zipline overhead setup covered with or without an assist. on incoming after a snap back or character death.
  3. Vergil - teleport or rapid slash mixups covered withor without an assist. on incoming after a snap back or character death.
  4. Zero - air dash, lightning loop, gawdlike hitbox (god i so hate this character). on incoming after a snap back or character death.
  5. Frank West - lvl 3 or higher frank west extended range hitbox and that swing around zombie throw move that he does that seems super duper safe. on incoming after a snap back or character death.

i’d ask about Doom but between him and Hulk i know to just fear/respect their foot dive and standing H so i think that will do for now til i get better with learning taskmaster. sorry if i am asking something that i should know already or not making what im asking clear enough as i realize this is a lengthy question that may end up with a lengthy answer. just tryign to get better at the game please and thanks ^_^.

Protect him. have a land mine or fire nade in the field. if at mid range and the opponent is grounded Pistol normal + call sentinel xx gun fire M. this should give you enough time to follow the drones and toss another fire grenade to force chip damage at the least.

Flamethrower is a normal, you should be able to call it then. especially if they are blocking.

Analyze when you are calling them and whats causing Sentinel to get picked up.

Block. If you can snap these assholes in and don’t let them do that. Chris has three weaknesses IMO, start of round, that 45 degree angle above him, and god dam beam assists setting up teleports
