If you use dark hole as Dormammu’s assist, you can set up some nasty chips damage stuff in the corner. I can see purification being good as anti air too.

I was thinking about pairing Taskmaster with Chris. What do you guys think? I dig on Taskmaster, but I’m not sure if he would have as much synergy as possibly Dorm.
Taskmaster, as I’ve been told excels with solid assists to help him zone and do his thing.
I use them on my team. Chris on point can grenade launcher and safely dhc out with Legion arrows.
Chris’ Landmine / Gunfire assist can help Tasky zone. And likewise for more or less any of Taskmaster’s assists which can help Chris pile on the chip damage. Be aware that you’ll need an anchor. Chris has holes which the top tier can exploit and while Taskmaster certainly has versatility, he still needs assists for his versatility to really shine.
Tasky likes having meter. whereas Chris IMO doesn’t really need meter that bad. They’re not BFFs, but they work well.
XF3 Dorm sitting on Meter? Power of the Power of the Power, Call a sun, purification. Oh you’re taking chip? Have some meteors. Repeat. Check out some videos of Filipino Champ. The Dread Dormammu is a KILLER anchor.

Thanks, I’ve been giving these two a shot, and they’ve been working well for me. I was wondering what setups everyone was using with Chris on incoming characters. It’s honestly one of my weak areas with Chris. So far, I’ve been only throwing flame grenades, so I have some fire pools set up when they land.
team i messed around since vanilla, now blessed with the buffs.
chris on point - grenade toss (like a shitty doom missile interrupting opponents combo)
moe - shadow blade (gtfo assist, can confirm into sj MMH Magnum/delta kick)
Felicia - cat spike (undecided this and the rolling buckler. but it comes out fast, good range, has a big hit box. too bad the sand splash assist isnt the L version. )
i usually play a zoning game. my chris has a hard time with dominant aerial point characters. i seldom switch felicia on point against those match ups. as for DHCs…

Yeah. With Chris that’s what I do. dump grenades, call an assist to force them to stand there and eat chip. I’m just a scrub so I prefer the direct approach as opposed to crazy fancy stuff. Dronz and Doom Missiles would probably be fantastic here. I usually dump a shotgun shot to prevent anything as well
I’m wondering if Flamethrower’s cancelability will now mean you can punish pushblockers potentially…
What can chris do against Hawkeye?
How is thee team of:
Chris - gunshot
Taskmaster - h. Arrows
Hawkeye - poison arrows.
I’ve tried this team out in training mode and I can do a basic combo, building about .9 bar and using 1, for about 630k and poison damage. I don’t know if that’s good but it’s all I came up with so far. One question I have is what the order should be on the team? I want Chris at point but should I place hawk second or task second? And are the assists good?
Order is fine. Hawk is the better anchor of the three by far.

With those assist fist should go first IMO. Chris to get him in doom vs incoming/ Fist stays in.
The best advice I can give in terms of teammates that’ll help Chris defensively are two things:
-
A vertical assist
-Helps with the Zero and Trish matchup in particular
-Helps cover Chris’ blindspot which is the superjump height -
A good pushback assist
-This doesn’t particularly mean it has to be a horizontal assist, but any assist that pushes people back is best…or any assist that slows the other guy down
-EX: Missiles, Rocks, Drones, Whirlwind, etc.
The vertical assist I feel is most important because thats the area where Chris has the hardest time reaching. This makes one of his worst matchups aka the Zero matchup a little better and prevents him from dancing all over your head in the sky. Combo extenders are great and all but the likelihood of opening someone up is meh with Chris. I always felt that Chris benefit best from random mistakes the other people make by either: running into your assist, mine, or fire grenades.
Chris on point, definitely. I run Chris/Fist/Chun and Chris benefits from Rising Fang way more than IF benefits from gunfire. From Chris you can always dhc into spirit of the dragon. Chris gets big damage off a raw rising fang wallbounce, Chris will probably survive if you get combo’d, so if you get the opponent far enough away, you can start the grenade launcher super, once the up grenade goes, dhc into fists of fury, the grenade coming down will cover the recovery frames and now IF in right in the opponent’s face.
