lol been done that man
I actually recently lent it to a friend…I tend to repass it every summer. Honestly that game is irreplaceable and will always separate itself from all other games…shit is a work of art IMO lol

Amen to that. Shenmue 2 is still my favourite game ever, nothing has surpassed Shenmue 1 and 2 in my eyes. The game just has so much heart. I really hope that they do see some kind of XBLA release (followed by throwing money at Yu Suzuki until he makes Shenmue 3).
But for the immediate future, JSR will do very, very nicely. Is it just me, or was everyone else supremely dissapointed by the police chief in Future? Captain Onishima was such a great baddie.

Seriously, it took an entire page and a half for someone to post Miller Ball Breakers? Fuck is wrong with you guys… >:(
I have fond memories of this game. Picking it up used at a Gamestop for like $20 in 2002, I was hooked on everything about it. For all of the small but noticeable flaws, the overall experience was what made it the classic it is. Colorful, vibrant, memorable music, memorable characters(except Yo-Yo, he was a dipshit), the thrill of tagging everything while Onishima was gonna shoot you down with a helicopter, and one of the more haunting last boss fights out there(I won’t spoil it, but that shit was such a contrast to the rest of the game it was almost creepy).
Totally getting this game if it comes out on PC(legally even, I want a new fuckin’ Jet Set Radio).
It took you 3 pages to even post in here, the fuck is wrong with you?
…I didn’t know how to express my love for this game without going off on a huge wall of soft talk and sweet nothings. ;(
Still have my Dreamcast copy but I’ll download this for the trophies.

It better be a good port with widescreen and an increased draw distance.
Both were confirmed in the new trailer

Only questions left are how much of the music they’re cutting, and if they’re keeping the Grind City map.
The music I could see but part of the game?! Why?! Also, which title are they going with? Do we still get “grind” with a slightly altered soundtrack?
good to see Sega getting their heads out their butts from making countless sonic games and re-releasing JSR on the network. I own a original copy, but I dislike having to switch a few wires around just to play it -_-’ so its great to see it back.
Sega is coming back in full force, with VF5FS coming, I can be a Sega fan again without too many o_O looks. . . .
The Grind City levels weren’t originally part of Jet Set Radio. They were added in for the US and EU versions for extra incentive. They eventually released De La Jet Set Radio in Japan that included all the music and levels from both US and EU, not to mention easier gameplay and bug fixes from the original.
I’m assuming that they’re going to release the US version, meaning those levels are staying. As for music…I dunno. It wouldn’t be completely impossible for Sega to get the rights for the licensed music again. Konami’s been doing a real good job of bringing back old licensed songs for their DDR games lately, so I can’t imagine it being completely out of Sega’s reach to do the same. They’re not exactly licensing Beatles songs.
Looks like the ‘Grind’ name was just a brief copyright issue that was resolved a long time ago and this will be called JSR.
Force of habit but I take a ‘I’ll believe it when I see it’ attitude when it comes to Sega stuff. I only see the Tokyo maps in that trailer. Grind City was only two bonus areas anyway with 100% licensed music (and they sounded horrible except for Mixmaster Mike and Jurassic 5), I won’t be surprised if they were cut. EDIT: Yeah what aku said
We should just get the complete version with all the music and Grind City.
VF! now Jet Set! Next they’ll be saying Shenmue 3 with 1 & 2 on a bonus disc (I wish)…
It would be cool if they modify Jet set or something to run on JS Future’s engine to give you better graphics and control of your tricks.
The only music that won’t make the cut are the licensed tracks used for the Bantam Street stages. Thankfully, the rest of the soundtrack will be retained since most of it is in-house.
If Sega needs some ideas on what licensed tracks they should put in the remake, I got one song right here:

Grind City is in, but the licensed music probably won’t be. All the content (and music) from the original JSR is in the game.
In any case, this song might as well be confirmed in since they acquired the rights for Guitar Vader. I am satisfied.
