Jet Set Radio 1 releasing in September @ $9.99

While we wait for the release of this I’ll be playing JSRF on my 360!

(I honestly do wonder if a new JSR could work in this day and age. If the new SSX, Tony Hawk Remake, and JGR ports do well then I’ll have a bit more faith but the market is so heavily skewed towards games with guns in them that a decently successful extreme sports game seems elusive)

Pertho. I think that Sega, especially given that it’s not making the same money like it used to, would like to but just can’t make a massively multiplayer JSR. I’ve certainly have suggested such an ambitious project in the past but I don’t think it could work today without being a Freemium type of game (download it for free and pay for new stuff like graffiti, clothing, gear, etc). The world would probably need to be like four times as large as well. Part of what made JSR/JSRF so great was that you went up really high and could go really low. The range in places you were going were so expansive. I don’t think that most MMO games have you scaling buildings and grinding roller coasters.

I’m not saying it’s impossible but it’s a serious investment

If this game got turned into a huge world where people could do multiplayer, form gangs and tag each others shit, it would be the…

MOST AMAZING ONLINE GAME OF ALL TIMES!

Especially after you get past the phase where people are putting dicks everywhere as their tag. SRK would be tagging combo notations and random shit. Either that or sick ass looking “WE DA BEST.”

The vast majority of the soundtrack was done by Sega. So in this case fears of any change to the soundtrack while accurate for some portions, won’t be as big a detriment as for THPS. There were a few other contributing artists but the core of the music is owned by sega. You may not get Super Brotha or Magical Girl. Which is a shame since they are both pretty kicking tracks.

Feels like the whole releasing Alpha 1 and 2 but not 3 thing.

Come on, its like giving me a half-eaten candy bar.

“Let’s get scratchin’!!!”

this game definitely deserves another chance and i hope the new generation of gamers appreciate how well done this game is in both the visual and audio presentation, as well as how intuitive the gameplay was made. no other game of this type [arguably a platformer, yes?] has even come close to imitating the “cool-factor” on this title also. would be even more excellent if they just bundled both games!!!

i’ma rock the soundtrack on my bus ride tomorrow.
“he’s a sweet- sweet- sweet- soul brother…”

As well as DC classics I could go for an Xbox Sega Bundle (JSRF, Gun Valkyrie, Otogoi)

NOW SHENMUE, DAMN IT!!!

@Schiff
highly UNLIKELY. Mr. Yu Suzuki had already expressed his intent to finish the saga but the Sega bigwigs have yet to give him the greenlight. iirc, they tried Shenmue Online but that was pretty much canned. the epic saga has yet to unfold…

now where’s my Techromancer, Virtual On and Project Justice?!?!

8P

They’d be tagging with Kappa and DansGame.

EXTRA SUGAR EXTRA SALT EXTRA OIL AND MSG!!!

…Aisle 10 trumps all…

Man, I do not know how I feel about the new SSX… I played the demo, and it may just be the demo having max stats characters or something, but there is absolutely NO DIFFICULTY in the game. It is nearly impossible to fall and it’s easy as hell to build meter (zing). They brought Griff back, which I think is a no no, and I just don’t really respect EA much anymore. Though they had great games in their day, I feel like the fun has been zapped out of their games in favor of appeasing individuals who don’t want to learn their games and become “good” at them. I’m not a fan of this downward trend in video game difficulty.
The SSX demo is out. Feel free to try it. It’s pretty and everything but its got no soul… I loved Tricky because it had style, it had challenge, and it was super fun to know your characters have a personality (I don’t even think characters speak in the new SSX -__-)
I’ll also be rocking JSRF regardless of the painful slowdown. I love it so much. I unlocked all the characters (getting Zero Beat was a bitch…) and I really do love being stylish with it. I hope this release is market research on green-lighting another JSR sequel. And I HOPE THEY DON’T FUCK IT UP IF THEY DO. THEY’D BETTER NOT FUCK IT UP IF THEY DO… I wouldn’t mind Kinect usage in the game though… That’s a risk I’d be willing to take. BUT MAKE THAT SHIT OPTIONAL… Focus on making the game fun instead sticking a shit load of features in it.

Kinect/Move would make doing Graffiti JGR/JSR style really cool.

I rather like SSX since I never played the originals.

You missed out on something really special there. SSX Tricky. If you can find it, I recommend you getting that and playing it for a bit. The courses were quirky yet cool. The characters felt alive (I really don’t know why EA would take out a lot of voice-acting… Kinda sucks). Overall, I do feel like they toned the game down a lot as far as style goes. Just watch some video and compare. The new SSX is super easy and doesn’t feel like it has the same flair.

for the people saying that they would like to play jet set radio future you can go on amazon and buy it for like literally 5 bucks with shipping and handling included and you can play it on your 360

I bought Deavid Soul’s Sparkling Music album thanks to this thread. I eagerly await this port now.

Not in the UK… the cheapest i’ve seen it for is around £20 (around $30)

Get creative son! Sega and Microsoft used to package Sega GT and JSRF on one disc with new Xboxes. That’s the one I have.

That’s the one I have too. The 2 games on 1 disc works on 360 too.

shits legit nigga
