I have the first Sega Panel “Blank” in to verify I didn’t mis-measure/calculate the angles, etc. Needless to say, I’m quite pleased with the results!

BTW: Your Egret Panel is still inbound from the shop. It was supposed to arrive Thursday but didn’t for some reason… I have a question as to where it is and why it isn’t here yet! The overlay is looking at me screaming… install me!!!

a 1L6B that can mount Seimitsu (LS-32) is something that’s sought after, I always get asked about on where to get one of those. sadly its become somewhat rare these days, all you can find are 1L6B that are Sanwa-specific mounts. (that is, besides reproductions). coupled with astro city 1L6B overlay art, i think it would be a popular. even better if you can match it with official sega overlays, so those “purists” can still use theirs (reason is, some AstroCity overlays have a distinct textured matte finish).

@hibachifinal - The problem with the original overlays is they are matched to the original panels. Even a fraction of a millimeter difference would make it unusable. My plan is to offer them in a number of layouts with a number of “standard” overlays and custom overlays (for an additional cost).
As for the LS-32… I can make those standard mounts. Never have in the past, always stuck to JLF with the use of the Paradise Plate to adapt an LS-32 as needed.
you asked for suggestions, i’m just chiming in on what I’ve experienced people seem to look for. I often get people messaging me on twitter/tumblr asking where to get seimitsu-mount 1L6B for astro city, and it’s been hard referring them to good sources, because its a discontinued product only available in japan. Most re-sellers are also in EU region, so yeah for us here stateside, its trickier/costly to obtain them.
And yes i get that you’d want custom, what im saying is, there’s a number of people out there who are looking for “original spec” 1L6B (candy cab purists), usable for original overlays (which are in turn, seemingly more abundant and easier to obtain). Seimitsu stopped production of their Astro 1L6B, ever since then it’s been “harder” to find those, especially for candy cab maniacs who want to keep everything as “stock looking” as possible. I’m just suggesting there’s already a market for those.
as for custom layouts, there are several non-sega layouts already made for “sega panels”, notably, conversion kits for Tekken 5, SFIV… The Tekken 5 panel was a NOIR (like) layout, but 4-button. and the SFIV panel has 1L7B Vewlix layout. The “issue” i would imagine is, Both of those have huge-ass card readers which some people might not need/want. Also the layouts aren’t centered/positioned well.

Some people might be interested in having full 8-button NOIR or Vewlix layout panels for their Sega cabs.
another thing to consider is a lot of people run consoles on their cabs, and would like to possibly have extra buttons on the panel for things like Select and Guide/PS button.
again, just my observations on what might potentially attract people to go for custom layouts.
(i think your current mount system already supports LS-32, you dont have to change anything i’d say, the LS-32 RS plate (flat) has holes that match JLF, it should be usable from what i’m seeing. you don’t even need spacers and such since its a flush mount. but yeah PAS universal mount should do the trick.)

I don’t have any intentions on making card reader versions simply due to the added cost of the panels. I have gotten some excellent layout ideas on where to start throughout the community at large. Thanks for the inputs so far!

I’m totally diggin’ the idea of more 24mm holes on the face of the Astro Panel for Select and Home. The only question would be whereabouts?
