Hmmmm… There will be a Skullgirls side tournament at EVO 2012, won’t it ? Well, I guess this should be the perfect opportunity to invite a few Japanese pro players to try out the game. Then we’ll finally hear what they really think of Skullgirls.
I think it’s more than obvious that Japan are interested in the game. We got Ravidrath doing Japan PR for Skullgirls, and there are people doing japanese streams for Skullgirls(which is EXTREMELY rare for a American fighting game.). Combine that with posters from the japan thread in SRK posting here…there is clear potienal for Skullgirls in Japan.

I believe Tokido once said way back in an interview when asked about TvC that Japanese players in general don’t like “combo” games. He probably meant games where combos go on forever the opponent just has to wait it out. I think this was before MvC3 came out.

Seems like Japan had their squad in 2001 for MvC2.
Takayuki, Sadao, Joo(meikyousisui), Sunahebi, Kohe, Fhantom and Dau all showed up to later EVOs to strut their MvC2 stuff, but I guess their not Japanese enough for Americans?
Tons of people didn’t understand who Kusoru was until he blew up Filipino Champ on stream, so I don’t see why people are trying to predict to future with Skullgirls.
