I started watching this stuff awhile ago. 1 litre of tears will make you cry unless you have no emotions at all. Hana yori dango is a great series too. Lot of good stuff people already mentioned.

There’s alot of crap jdramas out there though. Like unbearable to watch bad. I usually go to http://jdorama.com/topdramas.htm (list isn’t updated with the newest jdramas) to pick out the good jdramas before dling.
Mainly go to d-addicts for the drama stuff. http://sars-fansubs.com/ also does a good job hardsubbing dramas and are usually higher quality.
