i think i remember there being one somewhere in the utagawa-cho area.
how much per play depends on the game(s) that you want to play. big box is 50 per credit for sf4. if you walk around the station to the other side of the tracks, you’ll find mikado arcade. sf4 is 100 yen per play there i think, but they have gg for 50 ypp as well as a bunch of cabs for 3s, melty. prolly worth it to check both arcades out.
at sportsland shinjuku, i remember playing gg and bb there for 100 yen for 2 credits. not sure about other games.

Im going to Japan for about a month during february/may next year. Ill be spending most of my time in Takasaki, but I plan on spending a few days in Tokyo.
Since I have no idea where theres good places to play SF4 I thought Id ask here. Ill probably get creamed royally but anyways, are there any specific locations that are recommendable? I read about that 300? free play arcade in Shibuya, is that still up and running? What about other interesting places, food or shopping that is!? Meeting up would also be a cool thing!
Anyway, Im glad for any advice, so thanks in advance. Hope to play some SF with the eastern part of SRK. :tup:
lotsa place to be honest… i think to maximise the experience you need to go to events and such too such as nakano trf, shibuya freeplay, and other tourneys… i dont live in tokyo so i cant say much besides the places ive been(notably nakano trf, shibuya freeplay, bigbox), but i usually check info about whats happenin in their sf4 bulletin board(in japanese)…
if you’re here during godsgarden2(march) or the national tourney(rumors say march but iono)… thats more awesome

Thanks for the advice so far hfz. Turns out my flight back to Europe is on Marth 7th 11am (from Narita). Gordsgarden is the evening before eh!? I might be able to go, depending on whether I go to Tokyo a day or two earlier, which I probably will anyways. That would be awesome.
If it doesnt work out its fine too. Ill be living in Japan from next summer for a year, so Ill be looking forward to meeting a few of you guys and playing a lot of SF

Me and a buddy are planning to go to Japan at some point in the next few months (whenever we can both get enough days off, saving up those sick days hehe) and we’re both really into super turbo and third strike. I’m not really the best player, but i can generally hold my own in super turbo and somewhat 3s, my buddy is quite a bit better and we basically want a place to play both of those games at a decent level and just have a great time. We probably are going to stay for 2 weeks to visit a friend of ours and we’re both kinda doing our research (without much luck, neither of us speak a word of japanese -yet-) until i saw this thread and thought this would be the perfect place to ask?? thanks and possibly sorry ahead of time lol.
Wow this may be a little offtopic but Japanese need to slow down with pranks. It is only guestion of time when someone end up being dead from some of their pranks.
