It shouldnt be that hard for me and max to run the brackets at the same time.
I am kind of wanting to do something along the lines of how I ran the tournaments at Chicago Heart (without any stupid errors like with mvc3 lol).
If we dont use that method then we will need help with keeping track of stations etc.
I would love to do commentary for sf4/mvc3 and I have the background for it. Entertaining commentary is good but you also want accurate commentary. Thing is if I am running brackets I am not sure if I would get the chance but maybe.
yea humbag, use the same system as CH3. it worked well. You can do some commentary too. Its ok to not do it the whole time, we can have people constantly switching out to keep it fresh and get a lot of different people on the mic.
I really can’t wait for this. been playing SF my whole life(II and IV series) but just very recently discovered the competitive scene. I’m a little nervous about getting bodied at my first tournament but at the same time def excited to train for it. hopefully I can attend a few local gatherings before the 7th.
OK so now heres another important question. What consoles do you all want each game to be on? Realistically it would be better to have AE and UMVC3 on different consoles since they will be the biggest games and that way we will have more resources and setups so that things can run faster and people can get more matches and casuals in. So… everyone seems to mostly prefer XBOX these days. I personally have a PS3. Which game runs worse on PS3 compared to XBOX between Marvel and SSFIV?
Also, I know nothing about MK9 since I dont play it. Hows each version for that game?
Well… I suppose we could use Xbox for AE and UMVC3 and use PS3 for MK and BB. It will all depend on how many xbox setups people bring. **So if people want UMVC3 and AE on xbox, then please bring setups! **
Honestly though… is UMVC3 on PS3 really much different than xbox? It seems OK to me but I havnt played it on xbox much.
Generally it’s the PS3 that can’t handle the game more than the game running like shit on it. New fangled slims and whatnot have relatively good lifespans now that they are new, so the processor can handle all those particle effects. Old fatty PS3s are like a disease. Shit slows down 24/7.
So what’s the interest for a KOF XIII side tourney? We got a little burgeoning scene starting here in Chicago and this would be a good venue to train up for.
nickel City is an arcade. we will have the tournament in the party room but people are welcome to play all of the arcade games there as well. most games are either on free play or only cost a few nickels.
sym, theres not much point in bringing a pc setup. there will be plenty of controllers and sticks for people to use. if you need to use a ps2 stick you can use mine
