people dont remember how fucking awesome the original Terminator is.
better than t2
Chill out dickwad.
it’s true…although commercially speaking T2 was such a monster. Everyone was talking about the movie for a long time. Kids 11-17 snuck into it like hell (probably most ever)
Rotfl.
t1 is a much better overall movie
sarah connor is better. the ending is better, t2 seems to go for the happy ending. john connor isn’t in it. only downside to me is the special effects are really bad.
i guess what it comes down to is
t1 = sci fi movie build on story
t2 = action blockbuster
i just like the whole mood of t1 better. the t2 extended edition is close second tho
i rank them as
T1 > T4 Trailer > T2 Extended > T2 Theater > Terminator Omnibus Vol 1/2 > T3 > Sarah Connor S2 > T-3D > Sarah Connor S1 > T4
I also like T1 better but T2 is flat out godly anyway. Coming in second to T1 isn’t a bad thing lol.
Whichever movie you prefer, I don’t think its really a fair comparison, kind of like comparing Alien to Aliens, very different films during the same series.
First Terminator being a moody kind of monster flick, the 2nd straight up big-budget action.
Every single action scene from T2 is legendary and there are so many iconic “cool” moments…the T-1000 going through the jail cells, Arnold getting the shotgun out of the box of roses, the opening bar scene etc. Plus the special effects are phenomenal even today, I don’t think a single film has aged as well as T2, as far as effects go.
Tiers go
T2 Extended > T2 Theatrical > T1 > T2 Battle Across Time 3D >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> T3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> T4
I know, who’da thought?
And seriously, T2 is hands-down one of, if not my favorite action film ever. It was all so perfectly done, IMO. I can’t really add any more than what’s been said.
that movie or jurassic park. jurassic park only has like 50 cgi shots tho so i dunno if it should count
Eh, I would’ve liked T1 better than T2 thanks to Kyle Reese and a darker tone, but it never really got of the ground as much as I would’ve liked. T2 had better killing/execution scenes and action bits. The police shootout in T1 was incredibly bleh. A Boy and His Robot was fine in T2, but it basically destroyed the entire franchise.
I have to disagree about the fx. I find the stop motion used in T1 to be timeless, whereas going back and watching T2 its a bunch of early gen crappy CGI.
to some extent, that could be how we will think about avatar 15 years from now lol.
y’know t1 was special in th sfx department.
i always thought the truck at the end blowing up was real, even now after seeing it as a model in the t1 making of i still couldnt say it doesnt look real in the film.
overall i think t1 has problems and t2 gave him the better chance to make exactly what he wanted.
also t4 is better to watch than t3.
t3 is the most terrible thing ever.
Am I the only one that absolutely loves Terminator Salvation?
Ok, granted that there is no comparison between T1 & T2(these are classics in their own right), but I think we have to see the new Terminator movies as being in their own league.
Also, there is only one Midnight screening Thursday/Friday of Avatar around here, and it’s in
3D. Never seen a 3D movie, so this better impress. Either that or I should have gone and seen G-Force with my brother…
I hope so
i like how the trailer to T4 is better than T2 the movie LOLOL. nice one sig.
im outi
Roberth
If I had only seen the first hour or so, I would have said it was the greatest Terminator movie. :wonder:
Even after several months, I’m still pissed that they revealed the T4 twist is the fucking trailer!! My brother refuses to watch any trailer or read an preview of Avartar because of this.
If you go look up the Avatar trailers on UT, you have airbender fans just as confused and wanting to boycott the movie over the title.
They just don’t understand Cameron’s had the trademark longer than before the TV series was created and obviously has more money than Shyamalan. (however the fuck you spell his name)
