Don’t you mean, Extraterrestriality? I thought this was a decent movie overall, but not the special awesome super choclaty tour de force all the reviews make it out to be.

Man, they didn’t even include that 15-minute HBO behind the scenes special feature, “Avatar: Enter The World Of Pandora”? …the fu-?
Now that the DVD is out, can someone check something for me? The second time I saw it in the theaters, I noticed that the avatar na’vi have 5 fingers and the native na’vi have 4 fingers. I got completely distracted trying to confirm this but I’m still not 100% sure.
Apologies if this has been discussed previously in the thread.

disorientated? I’m pretty sure that was not the reason (there are so many other ways to make them feel disorientated). it was because of the involvement of the human DNA afaik the same reason avatars had eyebrows while navi did not.

Actually, no it doesn’t…well, not this DVD one at least

DVD Special Features:
1.) The Single-Disc DVD Edition:
? No special features - just the 2-D theatrical movie presentation only
2.) A Two-Disc Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack
? No special features - just the 2-D theatrical movie presentation only
For either edition, there will be NO deleted scenes, interviews, commentary tracks, extended cuts, trailers, behind the scenes clips, or any other special features.
Fox claims this is to present the best picture and sound possible without compression. “It’s mastered at the highest quality possible, up to James Cameron’s own personal standards, and it doesn’t even have trailers on it, because they wanted to use all the space to show how great Pandora looks” (quoted from the first link below) This is similar to the initial release of the DVD of Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ” in 2004 where it featured only the movie and no special features on the disc.
Now, if you want the bare-bones version of the movie, this release on Thursday is what you want. Now, if you want special features, etc. you’ll have to wait for the inevitable special edition in November 2010. Fox knows it has a cash cow on its hands and wants to milk it for all it is worth. So, it is planning to re-release Avatar in theaters, hopefully this summer or so, with additional footage. Then, it will include this additional footage plus a bunch of other special features not-as-yet detailed.
personally i’ve seen the film so I have no problems waiting for the real version

what a load of smelly-ass bullshit.
this kind of money grubbing pisses me off.
last thing I heard was next year, probably will be the first thing you watch on your brand new 3DTV and playstation 3
…reads Ace’s post
…puts wallet back in pants and closes Amazon window
…starts playing Hulk music and hitches a ride to the next town to be a family man
