This is just going to fuel detractors but fuck,it is what it is and Cameron tired or whatever should have chosen his words better.
I found it so hypocritical how the fan lambasted him about the movie only after he refused to sign. Shows just how two-faced people can be once they get riled up.
Cameron wasn’t innocent either, he’s always been cited as having a really salty demeanor. Still, this seems more like a bad timing scenario where Cameron just didn’t want any personal intrusion.
I personally dont mind if the man wants some personal space, fuck he gives me sweet ass shit like T2 Aliens and Avatar he worked his ass off for these and as shown by him selling the terminator franchise he has paid in the past for it,if he makes these and i love them and pay for them,i dont think his every move needs to be analyzied by yours truly.
But at the same time i’m not the"Leave Brittney alone" queer.
i care about what james cameron does in his personal life.
Story was weak but everything else was really good (the world was awesome). Definitely worth seeing imo.
shit, i didnt have a clue it was supposed to be her.
fx didnt do her justice.
thats funny, for some reason the only Na’vi i didn’t instantly recognize was Jake’s. To me his avatar looked the least like the actor, while the rest i felt were spitting images.
he isnt a ‘stand out’ face in features or looks to me though.
also it was his brothers?
yeah but they were supposed to be twins. iunno its probably like you said, just his facial features don’t have anything that stand out.
Just saw it, I thought it was awesome. It reminded me why I get so into gaming: To get away from real life once in awhile.
And I heard James Cameron was an asshole on set but he’s got millions of dollars in his possession, I wouldn’t want anyone to fuck up and lose any of that if I’m supposed to make my dream come to life on screen either.
anyone else felt like playing some halo while watching this movie???
It happen to me a few times during some scenes.
Watching an awesome movie makes me want to play a shitty game?
I don’t think so.
That movie was SENSATIONAL! That movie was so good it almost had me crying. I don’t understand all the hate for it being similar to a movie that released 19 years ago and which in fact probably a lot of you haven’t even seen it since around that time.
Yeah it used a lot of cliches, but it did it well. It was like a fresh take on those kind of movies. The movie was astounding to look at and I was immersed in that world. The Na’vi seemed like they were Africans to me because some of them definitely looked black and that little dance they did I know was an African one.
Spoiler
It was cool to see Guile as the villain in the movie. When Jake smashed that camera and Guile saw who it was, i was like uh oh you pissed Guile off now. When he pulled Jake out of that chamber and punched him in the face I yelled “Sonic Boom” in the movie theatre. The final boss fight against him was badass as hell too.
The movie did a good job of making you immersed in the world, keeping your attention and making you emotional. Some fantastic scenes near the end. The best film I’ve seen this year.
It’s not that he’s an ass hole it’s that he’s demanding, has high expectations and a short temper when it comes to stupid shit. The thing is though is that those kinds of people bring out the best in others and tend to put out the best shit on the market because they demand your best. Gordon Ramsey the chef is the same way. Either give it your absolute best or fuck off and notice both of these people have made landmarks in their field of work.
nice fiscial info
Avatar performed very well at the box office over the week. The film earned $16.3 million on Monday (the third biggest non-opening Monday gross ever - The Dark Knight is #1 with $24.4 million), $16 million on Tuesday (the second biggest non-opening Tuesday gross ever - The Dark Knight is #1 with 20.8 million), and $16.4 million on Wednesday (the third biggest non-opening Wednesday gross ever - Transformers is #1 with 29 million). It also earned $11.3 million on Thursday, setting a new record for biggest non-opening Christmas Eve gross ever. The film then earned $23.5 million on Friday, slighting behind Sherlock Holmes which brought in $24.8 million.
The film has now grossed $160.7 million domestically and $255.6 million overseas for a total of $416.4 million in less than a week.
looks nothing like her, I wonder if she was cast late.
Just saw the movie again in stardard cinema in 3D. Still fantastic movie but not as good seeing it in IMAX. Theres something about having a huge screen and being close to it, normal cinemas you tend to be so far away from the screen you lose some of the depth. The colours too in IMAX are so much better.
Probably the native Na’vi arent suppose to look like anybody, while the Avatars suppose to represent the host.
I cannot think of a good reason for that, its not as if we see the real Zoe in the movie, Weaver’s avatar didn’t look like her either.
Wes Studi played the Chief, from what I recall his character definately reminded me of him.
The colonel guy who runs the military group, he had blonde hair, a blue tanktop, and camo pants.
Colonel F. Guile was runnin that shit!
Yep, Guile was a badass.
Your pic shows it looks just like her. The nose is just a little off though, mostly because Na’vi noses are triangular at the end. Hers seemed the most obvious.
