I don’t get what makes the guy and idiot. He is correct in more ways than one.
for psssshhhh
Spoiler
He even acted all like “no your still the new chief”, but of course the homey gets peaced out

he’s complaining about plot points when the whole thing shows how stupid and destructive humans (westerners if you want) are.
he’s an idiot cos he understands and is debating about the story’s most basic and linear wave length, he’s an idiot because his concept of reality is “the smarter people are the people with guns and rockets”. the na’vi don’t need weapons because they use their brain to survive, they settle arguements without destroying their home
i find it ironic that the movie comes out shortly after the Copenhagen summit. Cameron is a genius.
The author of the article is white and only wrote it to gain the trust of an alien species (race) and become their leader. Don’t take his words as genuine.
That movie was pretty epic! I got goose bumps during the fight at the end. i totally would have boned that alien bitch too. and the general is a fucking beast…dude doesn’t even care when he’s on fire.
3D Movie + Weed = Always awesome.
Even Final Destination 3D was awesome because I was high. This is going to blow my fucking face off.
saw this last night high as a kite and was blown away. thinking of going again tonight on mushrooms…
movie was a lot of fun. visually it was incredible and i will certainly be buying this on blu the day it comes out.
Cuz it’s so hard to re-write a script.
He was fine with a 1990’s script but had to go with over the top 2090 style graphics? Bullshit.
This isn’t a story movie, this isn’t an acting movie, this isn’t a theme movie, this is just one of those IMAX experiences, where you sit back, turn your brain off and watch some cool graphics on a screen.
He could have easily taken out the characters, the story and the humans, and just made a cool 3D exploration movie of a distant planet and space and shit. Could have been 50mins long and been more entertaining since it wouldn’t have all the contrived draw backs of the actual film…
Paid $9.50 to see this movie last night. Fell asleep during the previews. True story.
Saw it last night. Most beautiful movie I’ve seen since before District Nine (though that is the exception).
The CG and prosthesis were flawless, awesome plot, great acting, it was really an amazing piece of film.
Just came back from watching it in IMAX
FUCKING EPIC!!
Simple story, but wonderfully told, CGI is scarely realistic!! And I thought Cameron spent too much time at the bottom of the ocean, he created a beautiful and realistic alien world :amazed:
You cannot watch this movie in 2D!!
BTW who here has played Panzer Dragoon, dragon creatures looked very similar
I enjoyed the obvious use of east african tribes with the native american philosophy, it was quite touching in parts, history has a habit of repeating itself the african tribes were moved for the pursuit of gold, diamonds and game.
"Don’t play with that you’ll go blind"
It isn’t a story or acting movie… except both the story and acting are very competent and get the job done. I’d go as far to say the actors do a great job. The themes in this movie are quite obvious… and it is a lot more than “just” an IMAX experience. There is no way he could have made a documentary more interesting than this movie…
This movie deeply resonated with me, it didn’t take much to move me to tears more than once. Pandora feels like a place I would have dreamed up as a kid; that’s where I feel the movie was most successful, in creating this sense of childlike imagination and wonder.
It’s a shame that so many jaded and cynical critics are hating on this movie.
Bingo. I can’t remember the last time something has captured my imagination like this… maybe the Golden Compass books, but Avatar is even better. seen it twice already, by the end of tomorrow I’ll have seen it four times
Indeed,it’s funny i had just finished the last of the Robin Hobb’s soldier son series the day i saw this.
It was like reading the story transplanted,a hell of a lot of similar aspects.
I did feel the resonance and was easily able to become fully immersed in this movie in a way i have not been able to since, like the theatrical showing of V for vendetta.
Oh i did want to add, sakeido if you liked the golden compass series to check out the soldier son,but specifically any Robin Hobb’s work it’s all very good quality.
Thats coming from an elitist also.
This movie was fracking GREAT. As stated before, the story was simple and not the most original, but it still worked. Cameron is a master of making a long movie seem half that time, except Titanic… god that crap was painful to sit through. Avatar, however could have been three hours long and I still would have wanted more.
Some of those crazy rituals the natives did were just… crazy. There’s no way I could have passed, especially the floating mountain climb. One look up and I would have disconnected and gone home.
I can’t believe there are some morons bitching about how the CGI looked “fake”. Are you kidding me?? This is probably the most realistic and flawless CGI integration I have seen in a movie yet. I haven’t had this kind of personal reaction from a movie’s visuals since Jurassic Park.
I thought the special effects were amazing! Worth seeing it for that alone. I really felt like I was there. Amazing:rock:
The story was stupid. White man vs Native American part 2… with a twist.
I’m not going to lie I was rooting for “The Colonel.” Everytime he brought down a Na’vi I was saying to to myself “this land is ours Bitch!”
Mini Spoiler:
Towards the end it felt like I was watching the trees come to life again and wreck havoc from the Lord of the Rings: Twin Towers. Watch the movie and you’ll know what I mean.
how the fuck could you root for the Colonel? He was a badass but man… you gotta be redneck to endorse what they were doing
I rooted for the Colonel because he was in the mech. Well, actually I was rooting for the mech.
I was also turned on during the small sex scene. The movie was pretty good. I wish the movie could of been on a bigger screen though.
Because he was a man who was secure in himself and what he was doing. Throughout the whole movie he had a mission and dammit he was going to see it through to the end. Its refreshing to see a non-emo badass on the screen who doesnt waste time searching his innermost feelings.
And well… to his own credit he did try to be “humane” about the whole thing. I thought that was very sensitive of him to at least care a little bit at first
lol, and besides, it didnt matter if he caught on fire he was going to beat some Na’vi ass down.
