So i finally took the time to Watch Terminator Dark Fate and, Wow! That was a LOT better than i thought it was going to be! The action scenes were great, story were decent, cast was great, and did well, Linda & Arnie were both Great and the intertwined character arcs were excellent (Arnie’s last words gave me the feels), the New Rev-9 was badass and almost looked more demonic than mechanical, etc.
Easily THE best Terminator sequel we’ve gotten, even if that’s not saying much. 10x better than the Craptacular Terminator Genisys. I’m sorry to say i skipped this one due to the ‘woke’ marketing. Even if the movie did have some ‘wokeness’ to it, it was minimal and got more RIGHT than wrong in the end. This one should have made more money.
And what have we learned here? That’s right… Get Woke? Go Broke! Even though i’ve had Zero faith in the franchise ever being Good again, my interest was peaked when i heard Cameron, Linda, Furlong, and Arnie were coming back for it, and that it was the “True” Sequel to Terminator 2. I was going to give it a shot.
Then the obnoxious Hollywood “woke” marketing popped up, you had that terrible initial promo shot showing the whaman and not arnie or Rev-9 for whatever stupidass reason. Then Tim miller running his big mouth about “Misogyny this” and “Strong whaman” that. Etc. And my Wallet was CLOSED afterwards. To what was actually a GOOD movie.
Also going back to that initial promo shot with the 3 whaman. It seemed like they did their best to make Grace look like a dude! WTF. But in the actual movie she’s pretty cute, and has the tomboy thing nailed down. She was also really good in the movie too! That promo picture was just more of Hollywood’s woke horseshit at work, sabotaging itself out of the gate.
I really hope when the ‘woke dust’ settles, this flick will get more appreciation. It’s a damn shame this one flopped as hard as it did.
So yeah, T’was the wokest of times, T’was the brokest of times…
Agreed 100.00%. I was Wrong about this one, and it was really good.
I blame the woke marketing and the damage the franchise has suffered with crap like Terminator Genisys. For why many(like myself), weren’t willing to give it a chance when it was in theaters.
