Watched the movied last night. I thought it was a good movie, but not as good as the hyper train made it to be saying it’s the best bond movie yet. I enjoyed Casino Royale more, and theres more memorable parts in that Royale then Skyfall (just basing solely on Daniel Craig’s 3 bond films).

The Good
I thought the movie was well paced, the 20 minute opening chase scene resulting in Bond being shot was fantastic. The audience were all “nooo,” and “ohhhh!” when bond fell off the train, that was pretty awesome. Oh and the fight sequence on the top of the shanghai building was fresh.
The director made Bond fell like a real human this time. Not like some super hero is other bond films, where Bond is invincibl and 10 steps ahead of his enemy. Although Bond still does what he does best, they show that hes just a person that also has weaknesses, limits, and emotions. His job is dirty and every second his life is in danger. You really get to know Bond in this movie.
I thought it was cool that they showed Bond going for the flare gun to reveal the whole he fell through on the ice. Most director would have just skipped this part and assume the hero got out.
Finally, how can you not comment on Daniel Craigs performance? Arguably one of the best Bond ever. He’s really set the tone of what Bond should be. He appeals to both men and women. Hes has the bad ass manly look, and yet retains the playboy sex appeal. We get see Craig portrait to us a tired, older Bond. A Bond with both physical and emotional mileage. This Bond is a man, not a hero, who isn’t so sure he can do his job anymore but has to, because it’s all he knows.
The Bad
The first thing i noticed after the credits rolled was that this wasnt like any other bond film we been accustomed to. Wheres the slick, untouchable english spy? Wheres the Bond girl? What we got was a story about a dark, dirty, old and worn out secret agent (maybe too chris nolan batman like). The movie was different and Im on the fence as to how i feel about this change.
Villian. I got his whole background story and why hes pissed off at M. But this guys suppose to be a previous agent like bond. Was he suppose to be this “feminine?” And M apparently knew about his shady characteristics, so they just took this guy off their radar?
Some nitpicking. I dont know how the london subway works but could Bond not have pulled the emergency stop on Silva and stop the train ending his plans there?
M and Kincade escape via the secret tunnel to void being caught. WTF are you doing with a flashlight? Was the 40 ft fire blaze not bright enough for you?
Bond went to all this trouble to save M and in the end she still dies of blood lost. I thought that entire sequence was useless then.[/details]
