Good shit to everyone i played at HH tonight. The guy that got second in mvc3 your zero is good had me frustrated, fuck the magneto zero match up lol. Jim’s yun is also very good i had no clue what i was doing. Can’t wait to goto tally, lates.

Good stuff to everyone who came out to the tourney. Thanks a ton for showing up, I know it was an awkward weekend with EVO going on and all. I hope everyone had fun and thought it ran pretty smooth. New to that stuff. I think Sying will be helping out/handling things more in the future and doing some advertising to get more people in. He had the EVO stream running for everyone and did a great job with that. He’ll be updating the google doc with the tournament results so everyone can check it out.
Small notes: I think someone accidentally grabbed one of my Super SFIV copies (xbox360). If you get home and find that you have two now just bring one back Sunday. Someone else also left a backpack there. I think it was a Jansport. I grabbed it and will bring it next Sunday so if you are missing a stickbag/backpack, come up and get it and play some games.
Thanks again everyone and super special thanks to Tyger for the extra setups and monitors. We only ended up using four stations but it was good to have extras just in case. Tell your friends and we can fill that out a bit more next time. I know the tournie pots were small but we can get more people and if everyone is down we can do 10 dollar pools if you want to switch things up. Let me know. Vote.

Birds! I thought it was a good turnout for being the 1st tournament considering the weekend, the weather and no advertisement. I think $10 pot fees will help, that way the payout could go back to 60/30/10 and 3rd place would get something (Max and Jei were kinda salty :)).
For your first tournament I think it went as smoothly as it could. I think the limiting factor was the number of systems. Assuming tyger can bring his monitors weekly , there are 7 monitors available to use but only 4x 360’s. If people can bring their HDMI/VGA capable 360’s I think that would help a lot (I’ll try to get a cheap refurb system to keep with you). That and what spektrum noted, should run through loser’s first so that the brackets don’t have a bottleneck (maybe double up on losers bracket systems).
Lol at the stream, MK9 finals were on most of the time, and no one likes MK9. Forgot their schedule was PST. Even though I brought a setup, I felt bad that me and the missus were using major bandwidth, so I threw HH a entry fee.
lol at all those MvC2 sticks at the same place at once. For the next tourney, will get labels so people can label what’s theirs.
On a serious note, I want to get something clear. I hope I am not stepping on anyone’s toes, mainly tyger. I want to help where I can and grow this community, but I understand tyger is THE Tournament Organizer around here. tyger if you think Im creeping on your shit lemme know and I’ll back off. /serious stuff
I actually did follow spek’s advice almost immediately… it helped a ton… but the brackets were pretty strange so sometimes it just had to go back to winners while some other people finished longer matches. Lack of players really. All the “byes” and my not realizing you could simply drag and drop people to rearrange the brackets in that program (until mvc3) probably goofed it up a bit as well.
Yeah, sorry to Jei and Max. It would have been like 2.50 or something so I rolled it into the 2nd place. I can get your guy’s entries next time or something if you want. I have no problem with that. I’ll just throw Amanda an extra 10.
I’ll probably be picking up an xbox360 myself as soon as I can so that’ll help with one more system consistently there.

Also sorry the 3s tournie didn’t congeal. At 9pm I just wasn’t into starting up a 4-5 man tournament. We’ll do it next time for sure.

Major shoutouts to birds! for running a great tournament great experience. I had a lot of fun and I learned a little bit of the Yun matchup I should be at HH every second and fourth weekend so that’s 1 xbox hopefuly I don’t get blow up by Blanka next time.
i got kof 13 on pc but that shit running sloowwww. screw this laptop. if anyone has a decent pc with a good graphics card & atleast 2ghz dual core we can get on it leggo!

I would have loved to come to the tourney on last Sunday, work and all. If there is another casual happening this coming up Sunday(I think its weekly? perhaps?) I can bring my setup and probably Polarbear(charles) and Senior Snowman/glock 50 moose(mark).

Hey guys! Seems that the tournament went well. Happy to hear that. Had a great time at EVO. Definitely recommend you guys to make it out there at least once in your lifetime. It’s a great experience, even for those not in the fighting game community. A little something for everyone.
To sying, no toe stepping going on over here. My main goal is to grow the community, which I’m sure is your same goal as well. We are all in it together as far as I’m concerned.
