Ok. So tomorrow I’ll give her the final call.
We’ll set things up for Sundays starting at 5pm running until 11pm at the latest. Door will be 5 bucks which goes directly to the store.
We’ll have three setups. Myself(xbox,ps2), LordXMugen(ps3), and Sying(xbox, ps3ondeck) will be supplying the goods and setting up. Anyone else kind enough to bring equipment will be backup in case something goes wrong. I’m PMing them my phone number so they have it in case they can’t come, etc etc etc…
We’ll start things out with one AE setup for sure with two more TBD (Likely one will be Marvel). Everything else (game selection-wise) we’ll discuss when we have the first meet.
First meet is July 10th. First tournament will be July 31st.
I’ll do a “final info” post once I make the call tomorrow afternoon.
I got Guilty Gear XX Reloaded on xbox too if anyone wants to play that =D
but I think sat is premo, I gotta see what my sched is like when I get back but it shouldnt be to much of a problem
I’ll have 6 monitors by then. I’ll bring 2 at minimum. I’m glad we got a place for some action. I was also going to communicate with Underground Alley to get at least some bi-weeklies going in there. I’ll keep you guys informed on that. I’m sure you guys don’t mind having multiple weekly gatherings.

Sooooooo, where will these casuals and tournaments be held?
It’s nice to see everyone is getting active. I won’t hold my breath, but I hope to come play also. It would be nice to play SF4 with everyone again, and some MVC3. I’ve been practicing myself, but I never had time to go to events because life got in the way (excuses, lol). All my time has been spent READING up on the games, so I’ve learned a lot more… I just want to be able to put it into practice so I can actually ACCOMPLISH something.
Hopefully if something becomes permanent, I can come out and play with everyone. I’m in the lab right now in SF4 with Sagat, Evil Ryu, and Balrog (only character I can use…). MVC3 took some times to get a team, but I’m leaning on Wolverine, Hulk, and Akuma.
I just really want to play at these events that will hopefully come up so I can get some practice. Too bad my work is so demanding on my schedule…

I’m gonna try and talk a friend into giving me a ride and coming out to this. He might not be down because of the holiday weekend situation but I really want to check out how you run stuff and play some games… the former especially since we are trying to set up a “sister” outfit in the neighboring area. Good luck regardless and thanks so much for the equipment offer. If I do manage to get a ride out there I’ll call you if I can bring a setup along with me.
i think he was talking about Underground Alley, which the answer to that is like almost 20 minutes away past the Orange Park Mall, almost near Middleburg i think. you can tell your there because to your left is a Walmart and to your right is a shopping center where the place is.
EDIT: as much as i want to go, certain people arent/might not be going, notably Rey (moving) and Mez (in Miami till next week), so i dont know if im gonna be able to play MK9 this weekend since if no one shows theres no reason to go.
This is the one of the main reasons why people don’t show up to things. If YOU don’t go, OTHERS won’t. If there’s a meetup, tournaments, gathering, etc in your area, and you are fully able to make it out, then PLEASE SHOW UP! In order for the community to flourish, you have to begin somewhere. I had like 20-25 total people at my last tournament. I’m hoping to have some more! Please bring yourselves!

birds! is setting up some weeklies/tournaments with Hammer Hall on Sunday evenings located at 1271 King St. in Riverside. This is starting on Sunday, July 10th at 5pm. $5 entry. I know the woman that owns this place and I believe she will work with us. She said she was excited to have us!
I am setting up a tournament for SSF4, MK9, MVC3, Tekken 6, and possibly Blaz this** Saturday, July 2 at Underground Alley** located at 920-2 Blanding Blvd. Starts at 1pm. It’s a little ways out, but it’s still within the Jax community. Really hope you guys can come out. People enjoyed the last one. We just need some more participants this time!

Sorry if that came off a bit angry. That wasn’t my intention. I just wanna help get the scene back up and running. People get discouraged when others don’t show. But I also guess its part my job to make the event desirable enough to come regardless.
Working on something big next year. Will keep you informed.
It is about 7-11 minutes from the OP mall. It is around 10-12 lights past wells. With how close some of them are to each other it is hard to say it even takes 1 minute between lights. If you drive 20 minutes past OP mall you are way too far. Just saying.
Who has the PS2 sticks? If they would bring them, I would be down to bring a TvC setup, since I have converters for PS2>GC. I have only one good wii stick that others like to use, so I would need one more stick if people were to get into the game. I could bring Classic’s as well for the pad warriors… I just only have like two converters and no ps2 pads or sticks. Let me know because I could try to have it there ever time we have a gathering just to get people into other games as well…
I could bring my pc also, just to have a VS setup that uses PS3/XBOX360 sticks (USB connection) and so people can try out EFZ as well… Just let me know.
It’d be easier if you just recapped but I guess I’ll sift through these last 30 posts.

I have the PS2 sticks. Hori RAP2s. Pretty sloppy buttons in one (stock) but the sticks are alright in both IIRC. Are you talking the Sunday thing or the OP tourney Tyger is running or both? I’ve never played TvC (no wii around with sticks) but I’ve always wanted to try it. I’d love to play a bit and learn some stuff.
Small update on the Hammer Hall project. Talked to them today, the other business partner wants to meet with me to make sure my ideas will all work out for them. I told them that sounds great and to get back to me. I also told them the target date for the first meet (july 10) and pretty much everything we’ve been discussing. They sounded optimistic and it should go fine, the meeting he wants just slows things down a bit but with the holiday weekend thing we have time now anyway.
I’ll update again ASAP. I’m also scouting backups as a “worst case scenario” type thing. I’m just overly cautious that way.
