Body press xx Gief magic series -> lp upper -> hp upper -> Q Lariat -> Lariat for 1 bar
Gief magic series -> lp upper into super for 2 bars
Jack magic series on block -> Gief tag-in super for 2 bars
hp upper on block -> Gief Tag in super for 2 bars
Plus gief’s weakest points are right outside of his grab range while Jack’s strengths lie in everything barring full screen and directly in front of him. Seismos help take care of fireballers that gief has trouble against, while gief takes care of Jack’s horrid close range. Plus the damage is a nice bonus since gief resets Jack’s upper-limit (can usually only uppercut 3lp, 1lp 1mp, or 1lp 1hp) and Jack allows for both Lariats to land, making for some beefy damages.
I’m thinking of adding a meter gain gem to Jack to make the first combo listed able to be done right off of the match bat because I usually only seem to be a bit off of that first bar. Anyone got ideas for some good gem set-ups?
Some more of the safe shoulder charges that Alioune found, these ones are safe against 3 frame DP’s on block. If they do a reversal on wakeup, you absorb the hit and can punish!
You can do HK shoulder after sweep, easy timing. Also after dp, tho a little harder to time but not too difficult. You can also do it after seismo, and the timing isn’t too hard, although the setup Alioune found may be better than these because the opponent is much more likelier to DP in that situation. Great find Alioune!

For me Guile seems the best choice.
He’s such a good battery and launcher and life lead defender.
Switched out Guile for Rolento. Rolento is just an awesome point character.
Guile and Rolento are so different though. I’m not going to dispute that Rolento is ridiculously tricky, but for my money, I think if you know the Rolento matchup really well, you can train yourself to resist a lot of his mixups. Knowing the Guile matchup really well only goes so far, his tools are just that good.
I think overall Rolento might be a better character though.
I have also started playing Rolento/Jack-X on Tuesday lol. Great team honestly. Patriot Circle switch cancels into Jack-X are awesome. Also deals with a lot of match-ups. Jack-X is good anchor for Rolento. Rolento is meant to be on point so it should be Rolento/Jack-X
And my gem set-up really works for them:
Rolento with 2 fortitude gems + a meter gem when you hit a launcher.
Jack with 1 fortitude gem, 20% damage on his super and 20% damage when a partner connects with a second launcher.
So I’ll be looking for that launcher, tag Jack immediately out. And when I’ll get that second launcher I’ll always have 2 bars to finish the job with Jack.
I use those same 2 power gems on jack. You can totally just fuck anyone’s life bar by tagging him in with a little meter. I love doing it.

God I love how reversals no longer = instant armor breaker. I know they had to put that in there because of focus attacks in SF4, but it really screwed over a lot of characters with armor moves. The real use for armor moves has always been to bait out reversals.
I keep forgetting his cossack kicks and his overhead. Does everybody use them as a common move in your repertoire?
