I do feel the handshake at the end was sincere. Classy on both players parts.

Ask me if I give a fuck? PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Forums = Serious business.

That’s not even a fair call. I’m certain he did his research on Daigo, that’s nothing to question. And besides, Justin played his semi-final matches and participated in the 5v5 exhibition the day before Sunday which ended at 2 or 3am. Then he played in the finals for 3rd Strike at 9am in the morning. I don’t know about you, but sleep is incredibly valuable during long tournaments especially at events like this. It’s just like studying: You can cram all you want the day before, but unless you get some good rest beforehand, it’s worthless.

Also, since when were people forbidden to talk a little shit, generate hype, and play to the crowd? Wong is a showman and will give the crowd a show, but at the end of the day, he gives credit where credit is due. :looney:

Because then it would be spelled “Raiyu” or “Riiyu”.

It’s all about culture and your own perception.

My question is whether Justin always celebrate after winning a round as part of his personality or part of a mind games to intimidate his opponent. If it’s his personality, then i think there is nothing wrong with it. To win a round against world no.1, sorry i would be over the moon too. :bgrin:

If it’s purely about intimidating or because he ‘dislike’ japanese, then it’s not right.

From what i see, it’s all part of this person’s personality since he taunts every opponent he faces!! People who are used to it should really just laugh it off.
I hated it at first but you really need to put it into perspective and things feel better.

And this is why i believe JW has so much ‘supporter’.

You’re absolutely right. Game recognize game and jwong is a serious talent. So much so that it seems like such a waste when he does something to either
a) makes him come of as impetuous
b) shows immaturity
c) makes one wonder 'what was he thinking?'
he’s entitled to do as he pleases, and how he presents himself to the public are entirely up to him, but if he’s going to get the proper respect (not as a gamer, but as a professional), he should be able to carry himself in a manner that is becoming of a world class talent.

He’s Kobe to daigo’s mj. Both have loads of talent, but one just has this polarizing attitude while the other is charismatic.

I think Kobe is coming into his own now with maturity. Justin will do the same eventually too…I hope.

How old are you? You sound like your 12 years old. Those arn’t his fanboys. That is New York, his supporters. I would be right there if I was at EVO aswell because he was not only representing New York or the east coast, he was representing America.

Great match. Switching to Balrog was a great choice.

lololol goddamn if this isn’t self-righteous.

ok so you have been around since 2004 and made that same judgement then its even worst

If you think Japanes players dont shit talk and throw tantrums and guarantee victories before they play then you are out of your mind. I spent a lot of time asking Issei to translate what i was hearing in some of my downloaded gamervision ranbats. They talk shit and celebrate just like us. Kindevu rolled on the floor at evo after justin beat him in cvs2, tokido’s got his pose and Nuki talks maddddd shit during 3s ranbats

You see only what you want too see. Justin raised sanford’s hand himself after he beat Sanford in the sf4 bracket on sunday. Also there are people who know some of these american players personally so we come to their defense

you say im taking this too far but you are judging a person based on some vids and and what you see on a tournament stream.

you should not be worried about respecting him as a man or a player. appreciate the talent and the bigger picture

We all love Jordan, but hands down he talked so much trash at players it was hilarious. thats part of the basketball game its a part of ours. pull up your skirt

do the ones that dislike justin say this while they are playing him or around him??? amazing when i come online its a lot of hate… but at tournaments… got damn ive never seen such love… sup wit that?

Cool you asked me, I dont give a fuck who they are.

…wtf?

Cool story bro.

It’s like that with most people, man. It’s unfortunate that video games are like that too.

I thought it was a hype match :wonder:

 @ people judging a person on how he trash talks while playing a game.

Looked pretty obvious that he was just hyping the crowd/his crew/HIMSELF up anyway.

It was?

The contrast between Justin’s showmanship and Daigo’s calm stoic personality, to go along with two different styles of play, just made the match that much more interesting. Justin really got the crowd into it.

Competition is the name of the game, but in the end I’m sure they both respect each other greatly. Justin has said many great things about Daigo, and Daigo has done the same.

this, justin was mad cool when i ran into him briefly at the tournament, why are people so fucking eager to hate on him?
