Well actually this is true for a lot of players. Realistically, setting up a tick throw is braindead easy and can be reasonably effective. A lot of lower level players start overusing them when they get desperate(especially online players).
Like there’s a need to … SRK reminds me of Youtube in terms of collective intelligence.
There’s really no need to impress anyone on here.
mensa… lrn2tech kthx
For the sake of current events, what’s Daigo’s Japanese rank and who’re the top 5-10 Japanese players currently?
The ‘amount of skill’ it takes to do something is absolutely irrelevant in a major tournament finals.
Daigo and Justin’s only concerns were connecting attacks and doing damage.
Depends on what you use for the ranking criteria. Going by BP, Mago (Sagat) is first, followed by Ojisan Boi (Sagat), Daigo (Ryu), RF (Sagat) and Nemo (Chun Li).
Iyo (Dhalsim) is the official Japanese Champ though, and RF came second in that tournament IIRC.
The vids of J.Wong and Daigo in the EVO final have been taken off youtube, does anyone have a link for a rapidshare file or something similar so I can download it?
Yeah BP points aren’t concrete measures of skill especially when some players have more free time than others.
Wow, they still haven’t had national tournament and it’s been half a year now?!
Seriously right?
HOW FUCKING DARE YOU SAY THAT DAIGO ISN’T MAGICAL YOU BITCH. HE’S ALL FUCKING SPARKLY AND SHIT, THAT FOO LUCKY FROM THE CHARMS IS JEALOUS OF HIS MAGIC YOU ASS GOBLIN!
…and yes I’m being serious.
Anyway, glad Daigo won, I have an unintended and unknown hatred for Wong for some reason…him and Balrog so both put together, I really hate.
If you order the BP ranking list by Win rate instead, then it looks something like this (based May/June’s data)
Daigo - 83.84%
RF - 81.52%
Momochi (playing as Ryu, not Akuma) - 81.07%
Ojisan Boi - 79.43%
Nemo - 78.83%
Mago - 77.51%
(data from www.versuscity.net)
Soon, a french commentator is doing it at this time
Too bad if you don’t understand french cause trust me his comments are really really good
RF really could have won that tournament. He missed two crucial FADC Ultra tcombos in the 1st and 3rd round of the 2nd set that could have turned things around in his favor. I guess he kind of caved under the pressure, who knows but he was in control in the first set before everything started collapsing on him.
Scrub. Justin was doing the same shit… only difference is Daigo knows how to tick. If you can’t tick, you deserved to get tossed. I want to see you win evo two times and beat japans top 5 consistently with your honor system. Get your head out of your ass and l2p. Til then, stop expressing your opinions because you’re just a scrub.
i just gotta say, that poonko motherfuckers got some of the best execution skillz ive ever seen. also for those in love with the choi, valle finale of 96, shit like that happens pretty much all the time in mikado arcades a2 tournaments.
Poonko went to Evo?
Vids?
nah i was looking at his korean tournament for the sbo qualifiers i believe.

heres the final against boxer (evo all over?). theres a site on here thats got most of these matches and tournaments. it should be on the sf4 page iiirc.
That match was probably against Janet(I believe he’s a dude though), who is the best Boxer over in South Korea. But that isn’t the finals, when he won the Korean SF4 National Tournament, he beat Laugh(also a Ryu player and member of SRK) in the finals. After winning the 1st set, he actually switched to Seth to finish Laugh off. Laugh was actually at Evo, but he got eliminated on the 1st day which surprised me. But anyways, I hope Poongko can come next year.
That wasn’t the sbo qualifiers, here they are :

Team [1st Attack]: Laugh (Ryu), Madana (Zangief) vs
Team [Rush N Dash]: BigJang (Sagat), Poongko (Ryu)
Kinda wanted to see that upset… Oh well… Good showing Justin!
