Jabbing and throwing is a DESPERATE attempt to win. No skills are involved.

That is where you are completely wrong. Jabbing into a throw is one of the few ways to will land a throw against a competent opponent. The jab keeps the foe in block stun long enough for you to get into throwing range in addition.
If you were to do it a lot then players would catch on and tech that throw every time. Daigo made it work by mixing up his foe. Something that takes a lot of skill to do.
Oh and Daigo isn’t my hero, Momochi fills that role.
