Yea the only booing was on the live stream, and thats the internet and we all know how retarded that shit is.
On Wong i was actually surprised he did not win it all the way some of the match’s started favoring him,no disrespect to Daigo by any means but damn alot of uninformed opinions going around.
All in all that was a incredible final series, and the atmosphere for the final set was amazing and a perfect way to close out a great evo.
Well l don;t know where to start match of the year at least for me it had everything suprises like jwong pulling out balrog, Daigo is not called a beast for nothing and he proved it once again good try by justin though.
theres people playig tournsments who main every charaxter in the game good enough to win tournaments with. kuroda springs to mind. also really glad daigo took the win, again.
The east coast guys aren’t disrespectful or arrogant, they have confidence in their abilities is all. That and they love hype. Seriously, as much as people talked shit about Justin after the gamestop tournament, you know all that just made the match even more entertaining to watch. And boy that was entertaining. I was at home bouncing around my room unable to even control myself at that match. Next year I will be at Evo for sure.
Awesome Evo! The Final Battle was awesome. Both Daigo and Justin wanted to put on a great show for the crowd. I just wish justin would have picked Rufus at least once. He didn’t even give Rufus a chance, Who knows Maybe it would’ve turned out different if justin did pick rufus at least for one match. He did Great with Boxer but it did look like he did need a lil more practice with him. The abel was definitely not working for him. Thats why i think he shouldve used rufus instead of abel then switch to boxer.
All in all it was an awesome EVO. I enjoyed every minute of it. And i learned so many new things.
the only thing i didn’t like was the laggy stream it seamed very unorganized. They shouldve used the guys who did Devastation 09.
Justin Wong had the momentum, but ruined it when he walked away. He got too hyped imo. You can’t walk away from your chair at any moment, period. The difference between Daigo and Justin is that Daigo can control his emotions. Justin’s almost there, but needs to buckle down and focus finishing the game before anything else…
Well at least I won’t hear anymore excuses like after gamestop “oh I couldn’t switch players”
daigo just straight up won it maining the same character throughout, regardless of the tier lists.
The announcers had it dead on: balrog in the stars and stripes looking for his fight money, and ryu from japan fighting for pride and country. You couldn’t have come up with a better story. HYPE!!!
The most amazing set I’ve ever seen. It was so tight and well fought, shit was clinical.
JWong definitely did his thing and Daigo was just being Daigo. JWong coming back from the loser’s bracket for a grudge match made it even more epic. If Evo became PPV I’d happily pay to watch it.
That girl and those other folks hollering were fucking annoying. Much respect to Justin and Daigo for maintaining their composure and pumping out that fantastic performance. I think Evo should have Wimbledon type rules when it comes to comes to cheering/yelling midmatch.
With Justin’s sudden shift to Apollo Creed Boxer and Daigo’s Ripped-Up Gi Ryu the match just seemed SO FITTING in more ways then one. USA VS. Japan…the long TWO sets that nobody expected as that last round in the first set was CLUTCH AS FUCK…it was just godlike.
Reminds me of Rocky I in a strange way…Justin came back from nothing and went the full TEN rounds, WENT the distance, and even though he didn’t win, it didn’t stop the match from being nothing less then AMAZING/EPIC/GODLIKE or whatever word you want.
Most certainly a great way to end EVO and the stream was great for the 23k that couldn’t make it and STILL be part of the energy of the match that was not one to miss.
No, he said he would have picked Abel…and then he did pick Abel. He picked Boxer after Abel couldn’t get the job done.
This was just an amazing experience JUST WATCHING IT, and there’s no way I won’t be there – competing – this time next year. I popped my major cherry this year at Final Round, and I’m officially addicted.
That shit was crazy. I was on the edge of my seat, hoping Justin would pick up the win. I’ll definitely try to go if I can next year, gotta get a new stick first…
The thing that clicked most in my mind during this match was Valle saying in one of those podcasts that the reason he did so well against Daigo in Alpha 3 Champs, was because his footsies were better. Wong’s footsies are definitely better than Daigo’s, and he really showed that. Can’t wait to SBO.
