J.Wong vs Daigo

Forget IGN.

go there.

I wasnt at evo but plz let me give my 2 cents after hearing everything

  1. Whats wrong with wong showboating? He shows the emotion and is good enough to talk it up. Plus he knew he was going to lose to daigo, so he celebrated while he could, i would of done the same. I dont know why people like the complete quiet type or expect everyone to be like that. I mean really?
  2. It would of been cool to see Cammy and Rufus. Not to take anything away from Wong and Daigo the best players in the world but, wouldnt it be cooler or more interesting to see a finals without A Tier characters? The top players always use the top characters while the other less known players use the lower tiers. How great would it be to see Daigo or Wong own someone with vega?

Thats the dumbest shit I have ever read. This has nothing to do with race, country or culture. Its about maturity and understand your situation and how to act accordingly to it.

And I am not an American either. Freedom allows you to do what you want, its the choice of the individual, regardless, Daigo is the champ, and he also acts that way…enough said

Too much “wtf” in the above paragraph… But, it is what it is…

I still have a feeling Daigo was going easy on Justin until the very end when he just dominated. There were so many missed supers and DPs, I doubt Daigo was playing for real, he was just adding hype.

Okay, my biggest fear may become a reality after last nights Evo. Being a Balrog main, I find it extremely difficult to beat another Balrog. And what I fear is that the Balrog army will grow so large, and so quickly, to the point where people will see Balrog mirror matches taking place too frequently. God, I can’t stand playing another good Balrog. It’s quite possibly his hardest match-up, assuming these players aren’t amateur.

Oh, and for all of you reading this, DON’T MAIN BALROG!

what are you talking about? he is perfectly correct
the japanese never cheer for anything, they are stoic robots
the american culture is centered around raising a ruckus and cheering

holy shit, i cant even carry on that sarcastic post anymore…

I doubt it’s gonna bring THAT many new Balrogs to the point of balrog-saturation. I actually hope it recruits previous Ryu players to join the Balrog army cus as a Rog player myself, i’d rather fight another Rog than a good Ryu anyday.

*shrugs shoulders

Edma changed back to Akuma and still lost. I think Edma saw Wong just beat like 2 or 3 Akuma, he doesn’t want to use it.
Justin Wong counter pick against Daigo too, so Edma can counter pick against Wong.

Bottom line is - his Rufus Raised the Roof and Evo 2K9 antics during Daigo matches have led both to defeats.

May want to try something new? It makes your defeat that more bitter to your supporter and satisfying to Diago lovers.
Achieve the victory first?

And I am saying this as an East Coast fan (including JWong).

Nice rep.

It is about culture though. Even if no one wants to admit it. It may not be 100% the reason but it’s a hefty portion.

I got into this before with someone and I was saying the same shit you are. It took a couple months but I realized that my views were wrong.

Like I said, Daigo is on the **extreme **end of composure.

Man, I hope next year Seth Killian can play-by-play and analyze without some jackass idiot like Skisonic interupting him every 3 seconds with absolute garbage.

Truly Epic.

Wong was using c.roundhouse and s.roundhouse a lot so Daigo kept jumping in in hopes of Wong whiffing.

Great grand finals but face fact folks. Justin LOST plain and simple. He got beat clean in the final match 0-2. Daigo got serious, dialed him in and beat him in convincing fashion. It was not nearly as close as you make it out to be.

Justin didn’t pick Sagat because Daigo knows that match up inside and out. Balrog doesn’t get play in Japan because of the Army of Sagats. This gave JWong an advantage (at first) in the match up.

In the end the better player won and Justin gets the crown as first loser in MVC2 and SF4. He is still a heck of a player and I will probably never beat him ever.

Justin is the best in the USA…but not even close to the best in the world. Being best in the USA is bush league. It’s like playing American football in Canada or Europe.

Even Daigo himself may not be the best in the world…just crowned as the best because he showed up.

I wish Mike Ross would pick up Sagat and give up Honda for good. he would be more successful I think.

I predict an early exit for Marn and JWong @ SBO 2009. Both of their characters are weak against REAL SAGAT PLAYERS.

epic finals. though it was funny that Justin had to counterpick twice to even be competitive, im glad he did as it was amazing to watch Daigo’s in game adjustments unfold. :china:

also, i think edma really did a disservice to himself by 1) getting gimmicky and picking gief and 2) clearly letting thatmisshap affect him in the next fight. if he would have just believed in himself from the get go he could have beaten justin. dude just lacks confidence

Hi,
I have not read this thread.

However, it is my understanding that some people have posted here the idea that Daigo was sandbagging for the entire match, and all of Wong’s wins were because Daigo let them have them.

This is catastrophically retarded. Post less.

From Evo, with love,

edit:

You are on drugs.

I would like to thank Wong and Daigo for making me incredibly hype from my computer 800 miles away for a solid 20 minutes. I want to experience it live now.
