It’s four, look at the S-Kill video.
He didn’t specifically say it only has 4 levels though, and didn’t really try to get 5. That’s the problem. But I’ll change it to 4.
I’m laughing at the people saying they are usin Frank and PW on the same team… you’re gonna spend half the match just powering or trying to power both characters up.
Yes but they’re different. Wright’s playstyle is around setting up whereas it’s not as vital with Frank.
I’m pretty sure everyone is gonna level up with Frank after a combo instead of running away and spamming camera. That, and they both can compliment each other well with assist. (Frank with Camera and Wright with Missile.)
EDIT: I don’t know why people think Frank and Wright are the same anyway. You obviously want to rushdown with Frank and keepaway with Wright, they just so happen to have a power up system, but even so they’re still different. Hell I might as well not use Rocky and Strange on the same team because they’re mostly around setting up traps and keeping away!
I agree, i am going to be playing Frank and Arthur on a team. Just because they are both power up kinda characters, doesn’t mean they wont work well together.
Considering how quickly a character can die in this game, the vomiting just doesn’t seem worth it at the moment. I mean watching that video, he had a kill on magneto and the vomiting coulda easily lead to a dead frank and a safe magneto. I mean whats the point of having 4 levels if frank is dead/close to being dead because of the drinking? Of course this is based of the admittedly very little knowledge I have of what bonuses the drinking gives him, maybe it’ll be worth it in the long run(especially if there is a consistent way to cover the vomiting)
Just don’t drink. He doesn’t need to.
And I won’t be surprised if we find ways to get to level 2-3 or maybe even 4 or 5 in one combo.
We did with MODOK. And he has around 6 or 7 or 8 or whatever.
If you think I’ve evolved beyond the joys of not waiting for the TV to tell me what to cover… you’d be wrong.
you turncoat
I don’t care, I just want him to yell “OH MY GOSH” for something, even if it’s a useless zombie.
yeah i kinda miss that too
You might be able to x factor cancel the vomit, or you might be able to gain 3 levels in one combo if you use x factor during it. If lvl4 is gdlk then it might be worth it.
“Yea now we’re BOOYAH!!!”
Remember kids, you never know when a fight can turn around, so please, don’t drink and fight.
Ehemmmm
V.Joe/Wright/Frank West
Land any combo with V.Joe (pretty easy to do with unblockable get em missile set up) then go to SLOW~ (using the camera as an OTG to level up Frank)
DHC into Wright, get all evidence while opponent is getting hit by maya+ slowed.
Frank will level up accordingly everytime he hits with his camera assist. Which will be all the time on my team. BOOYAH!
I think the drink sounds like an interesting mechanic. It’s risky but if you use it right you can get to Level 4 pretty fast.
For example, take the situation from the trailer - You land a grab zombie and then you drink. Do a combo - let’s consider the possibility of multiple-photo-combos - that gets you to Level 4 at the end. If you know exactly when you are going to puke you could call an assist to cover you up while you do - that’s what friends are for - and once you’re back you’re powered up in no time for no cost. You could also probably XFC the vomit.
It’s not something you want to rely on, but if the situation presents itself it’s yet another tool to play with.
That sounds glorious. Slow, DHC to Frank and fuck their asses right up. If the camera is unblockable, they aren’t avoiding the paparazzi today.
if its time based i wonder if doing a super will negate it.
Also something I noticed is in the seth video he takes one picture then drinks and takes two more causing him to level up. From what I understand that means that to get to level 2 you need 4-5 points, but I could be wrong.
Slow wasn’t able to be DHC’d in Vanilla MvC, now that it is its just a hugeee buff, especially for the new power up characters. Im diggin it!
A mix of silly and serious points to bring up:
Lack of Real Megabuster: I’m half-tempted to go over to Capcom-Unity and pick fights with the Mega Man fans over this, blaming ‘their incessant whining’ or something along those lines for why Frank lost one of his best TvC moves. That would be a fun reversal, so and so losing something because of Mega Man. I won’t actually do this, but it is very tempting.
Camera Assist: Is it confirmed he gains levels for doing his camera assist, or are we mostly theory-fighting that for the moment?
OTGs: I wonder which will end up being more effective: Frank providing the OTG and an assist providing extra hits, or the assist doing OTG and Frank extending the combo from there, insofar as camera combos go? It seems like X-23, Deadpool, Wesker, etc. might be more valuable in this context.
