I've covered wars y'know - Frank West thread

Look I know this is a bit off topic but I laughed pretty hard when I saw Ghost Rider using his penance stare on Rocket Raccoon, he just grabs the air and then Raccoon just suddenly suddenly teleports into Ghost Rider’s hand!! THAT’S HILARIOUS!!!

But anyway Frank looks like he can be capable of some beast damage considering he can wall bounce with his bat, otg and continue his combo afterwards if he has an assist, can otg with his shopping trolley super as well as use it after his camera for extended damage and he may also have a ground bounce move as well that I haven’t figured out yet.

My only real concern at this point is how much health he actually has because in the gameplay video’s it doesn’t look like he can take nearly as much damage as I expected although it’s hard for me to tell for certain how much he has, but considering how much options Frank already has he probably won’t even need it.

All this talk of vomit is making me hot.

Okay, so this leads to a good question. As Frank users, do we want to go for a flow like "Frank combos, Camera OTG hit scores the first batch of Experience Points/Photography Points (“PP”, it’s what they’re called in Dead Rising too), assist picks up from there, Frank does some more hits, camera at the end, resulting in a flow of…

Combo, PP batch 1, continue combo, PP batch 2, (presumed end of combo due to hitstun deterioration)? Does that sound about right? Seems to me like it’s just as acceptable to go that route as it would be one big combo that generates (presumably) the same number of hits/PP? Obviously this would require lab work, but splitting the combo in half with two snapshots instead of just one seems okay to me.

If we can do combo, camera otg assist pick up relaunch camera otg hyper, we’ll be like Wesker that levels up.

Mainstream media reporters are so biased… your doctored AP photos are worth nothing to me!!!11one starts bouncing off the walls repeatedly

Oh, right. Before I drop more knowledge, let me apologize for not updating the OP as much as I should. I keep getting distracted!

Anyway…seems vomit DOES go away if you hyper, or tag out. There was a certain video where he drank and snapped to level 4, did a hyper when it seemed it was time to vomit, and tagged out. Later he tagged back in and was feelin’ great!

Also, I’ve now realized just how powerful the effects of combo’ing into camera is. Frank does a small ass combo into camera at level 1 and levels up, but in a few other videos it takes like 2 or 3 camera shots to level up from level 1.

The only thing we need to figure out is how hard it is for Frank to land a hit if he can’t land camera shots on the enemy. It’s sort of unsafe on block. REALLY unsafe.

You level up at 5/20/50/100 for a total of 5 levels.
It does compound all the hits in the combo at the time of the photograph and adds that to the hidden meter.
You are able to otg with the camera into choice assists that allow you to relaunch and get a second or even a third shot, each one adding the current combo number, so hitting level 4 off one combo is not unheard of, even level 5 is obtainable if you burn x-factor.

That is fucking AWESOME! Adding this to the first post!

Taskmaster BnB -> Legion Arrows -> Hailstorm -> Shopping Cart XF Picture = Instant Level 5?

o.o;

Frank, Chris, and Haggar

Manliest team there is

It adds one point for each hit, right? How many experience points does the camera alone give? Just one?

Camera gives one point, yes. If you had him on point and were playing footies with camera alone, it would take 5 camera hits to reach level 2 for the barrel roll.

That’s our operating theory so far, yeah, re: PP from a lone camera shot. I think a recent match video shows that’s either correct or close enough.

It would make sense that alcohol doubles your Experience Point gain then.

This opens a whole new world for Frank in my opinion. Get a ton of hits, snap that camera twice, level 5. Game on.

can you level if from assist camera shot?

Yeah. Apparently the Experience Point counter doesn’t reset as long as the combo doesn’t, so multiple camera shots in one combo will be great. I think I saw it in a video once.

Is it me, or are people sleeping on Frank West hard? You just need 2 b&bs without beer to reach lvl 3, and that is enough to grant you the paddle that has range which makes Vergil jealous. Plus he has a roll that’s improved from the already freaking annoying roll of TvC, he has a drop kick and a slide, his hypers seem to have a lot of invincibility and his cart assist looks good too. To me I wouldn’t be surprised if he end up high tier, he really seems to be vastly improved from what he was in TvC.

He has a lot of tools, but in exchange he needs to at least level up once to get himself started and has somewhat low mobility.

Rocket Raccoon on the other hand, has everything you could ask for in a Marvel character and has no noticeable weaknesses in return! (low health is not a true weakness in this game)

OP updated some more. I’m STILL watching videos to scope Frank’s stuff even more. I want to know everything he can do.

For instance, a combo I fiddled with assisted by Dormammu and Nemesis.

s.L, s.M, c.M, c.H, S.launch > j.M, j.M, j.H, j.down+H > Dormammu.Darkhole + ground.Camera.shot

// At this point the camera hit accounts for hit number 10 and he levels up while the opponent grinds up in the darkhole, holding them in place long enough for the recovery from the camera shot to continue with //

S.launch > j.M, j.M, j.H, j.down+H > nemesis.overhead.slam (the one that causes a ground bounce) + ground.Camera.shot

// The darkhole hits for 10 if the timing was spot on. That, plus the above, leads to 26 on the combo meter when the Camera.shot is taken, so our level hits 3 (unlocking anti-air super) with a total of 36 so far with the opponent in a ground bounce state waiting for the recovery, then //

S.launch > j.S

// All hit decay allows for at this point, but follow it up with a Down+H in the air and you could be close enough for a third camera.shot either in the air or on the ground, for a combo of 29 at this point, making the total 65 and hitting level 4, unlocking longer range and multi-hitting normals that cause chip. If you risk reaching the ground, you can link into a quarter.circle.back+PP super to polish it all off. Or, you could cancel the camera.shot with a tag team super with the assist buttons and x-factor that to take another picture hitting level 5 and giving him a blue glow and an increase in all damage dealt.
