Bold cancel is Dante’s unique move that allows him to cancel any normal into a jump. Jumps have 3 (IIRC) frames before you actually leave the ground. By inputting Stinger and pressing :s:+:atk: for a Bold Cancel, you can cancel those pre-jump frames into a special move or hyper (usually Volcano).

Glad we are on bold cancel discussion. I never used bold cancels till recently… I know noob Dante. I have no problem with the bold cancel itself. Its after the volcano, J. H, Air play, falling H, I cant get the standing H, S to connect is there some trick or timing that is required I keep trying faster or slower no luck. Any tips? Sorry for the noob question.

Best bet is to delay the first j:h: just a tad bit (this is the hit that pushes characters like Wolvie, Frank, and Firebrand too far if you do it too fast) and then delay the second j:h: till the last possible moment. I personally go straight into standing :s: instead of standing :h::s:

Just to set things straight, :s: + :atk: is used to nullify the recovery frames from :f: :h: to allow Dante to go into :dp: :m: immediately? And I’m assuming since :s: + :atk: by itself does a forward jump, you have to input :dp: :m: fast enough so that Dante doesn’t do the forward jump from Bold Cancel?

indeed…But I just press :dp::s:+:m:. after the stinger rather than stinger>:atk::s:>:dp::m:

Ok so I need to delay the second j H a little after the air play. I usually do it to quickly afterwards that may be the issue. I will also try the S after wards instead of H,S. I See Nini do falling H, st H, cr H, S. That kinda blows my mind cause I cant even land this lol. Thanks Kaiten I will try it tomorrow night.

:f:+:h:xx:s:+:atk:xx:d::df::m: is easier.

what combos u guys are using after a long zero combo dhc devil trigger? or even rekkoha xfc1~2, tag in dante?

Note that with :f:+:h:>:dp::s:+:m: you can delay the cancel, allowing you to wait for Dante to move further forward to allow Volcano to connect from further ranges (which is more important than ever with the ridiculous pushback on his normals). It also makes it easier to Stinger (wall bounce) -> Grapple in the corner.

That being said I still use the other method anyway, I find it easier.

Acid Rain, super jump Sky Dance then corner bnb stuff minus guns. Assist extenders are pretty good for this dhc to get the damage up since it got nerfed so hard.

Anyone have any combos that extend with Spencer?

so what’s the most to-go umvc3 bnb that breaks 700k for dante? just picked him up few days ago and i can do bold cancels and stuff and my execution is fairly decent for advanced combos.

Two acid rain combos with two acid rains. Both do about 720-730k and build around 1.8 meter.

Midscreen: j:h: land :m::h: Stinger BC Volcano jf:h: Airplay j:h: (delayed to the last possible moment) land dash (IGD?) xx s:s::h: (2 shots) Prop Shredder* :qcf::uf:+:l::l: (TKed Acid Rain), :qcf:+:l::l: (acid rain), s:s:** j:s: land Cold Shower xx Stinger BC Hammer, Volcano OTG xx Beehive, Stinger BC Volcano xx Beehive

*Prop Shredder and the first Acid Rain is the backbone of this combo. Prop has to connect at the first possible moment while also landing correctly. The two acid rains must be done ASAP

**You can jump and do Hammer, Volcano xx jS, or s:s: into j:s: depending on the vertical height of your opponent.

hmm thanks. what about corner? Also, do u have any tips on doing stinger BC teleport? I can just about do most of his shit but i have no idea why but this particular input just fucks me over. so hard to do stinger bc tele >.<

In the corner you just change it to connect properly (its actually easier). Basically, you want Dante directly under the opponent to do Acid Rain correctly so when you do Volcano, jump back instead of forward and you dont have to ground dash.

Been practicing with Dante and Magneto at the same time and I’m surprised to say that Magnet’s stuff is easier than Dante’s, IMO.

You must be outta youre mind. I have no idea how to do mags stuff. Magnets how do they work right?
And I guess it is just me

I find Mag easier in that he doesn’t need TK motions in any of his combos.
