Actually (in the guide atleast) 6H is Stinger and canceling into Stinger from guns is called “Stinger Lv.2.” Makes sense since, just like in DMC3, to do Million Stab you have to do Stinger then mash the atk button.

Weirdly enough, the game puts the same atk properties for both versions.

E&I Loops/Gun Loops are still possible, consistent, and easier across the board in UMvC3. Though the minimum damage scaling nerf that Dante recieved in this game that raped his damage might not really be worth it. 3 loops are consistent across the board and 4-5 is character specific. When I have the time i’ll do a vid and post in in the thread I made within the Dante Forums. 5 loops actually build 2bars solo.

Possible TOD with Dante/Vergil and only needs a bar to start off with (so it works at the beginning of the round:eek:). Will post notation and vid tmw.Gotta get some sleep

I’ve been trying to get into Dante and have tried replicating combos but I’ve had a few problems.

  1. s.S - s.H(Clay Pigeon) - 6H(stinger) - bold cancel teleport-whatever
    I can’t seem to get the Stinger to hit after the Clay Pigeons. Do I do a longer Clay Pigeon?

  2. s.L - s.M - Stinger - bold cancel - Volcano - jump – j.H – Air Play – j.H – s.H – whatever
    I can’t get the j.H – s.H to connect after Air Play.

  1. Think of it like you’re inputting a magic series, there’s no delay between firing the shots and doing Stinger. You also should only be hitting :h: once, the more you shoot them the harder it is to get stinger.

  2. Just a timing issue, I personally don’t have any secrets to landing it, but I’m sure others do

Actually, i never used to miss this in vanilla, but now, 50% of the time, dante randomlly teleports to mid screan, insted to corner…I dunno why the hell they messed this up…Is there any way to make dante hit like before?

If its anything like vanilla, for #2 do the jH late as possible. Cant speak to Ultimate, though, as Ive just been doing the easier jMH xx killer bee : / If it’s different, disregard this, but if you haven’t tried it, try it :slight_smile:

New thing: What Im pissed about is how midscreen a sLMHS will now whiff the S often. Why the hell, Capcom? The Stinger BC volcano stuff isnt too touch, but sometimes in a pinch I want the ABC launch. So dumb. I guess I could try skipping the sH.

Anyone know any good spots within the normal BNB to include drones? I have a couple tricks for them, but none within the standard BNB.

I’ve complained about this for the longest especially since online, that tighter timing for BCing can really fuck you up. Why was his normals nerfed actually? I mean sure his combos were long but there’s reduced dmg, reduced meter, and now magic series misses 90% of the time?

What I do is delay the second j:h: till just before he falls and then go straight into s:s: or into s:m::s:. I’ll post a video in a sec

His normals in Vanilla were so good it was stupid, and his magic series just got changed to LMS instead of LMHS. There’s a few characters that don’t get to do LMHS as a combo.

Also, Nini has a few videos with combos where he does sky dance into the drones to reset his ground bounce. Just check his youtube.

Nini, or anyone mind helping with the timing for the Sky Dance Ground Bounce in the first combo? I used to think if I executed SD ASAP, it was consistent, but not so muh anymore. Anyone using any visual cues for it?

It’s not too consistent, but they need to be a tad higher than Dante to get a better likely hood of the last hit whiffing.

That’s a good way to look at it, I guess. I’m still mad they did it, but it softens the blow to figure they just converted him to an LMS char (even tho sometimes the full sequence does work). A lot of times just looking at something a different way can do wonders. I couldn’t for the life of me get Stinger BC Volcano consistently, then I decided that the way you execute Stinger is actually fwd+H H+S, then just cancel a Stinger into Volcano and ta-da! lol Not sure why I felt the need to share that. Just seemed like the same kind of perspective improving things trick.

Nini, the advanced stuff in your vids there… do you find most of it works pretty consistently assuming one can do them, or are most of them finicky kind of like how you just said “it’s not too consistent.” I guess the question is, should we be trying to do this shit in a match? Or just sticking to the basics? I play mostly online, but try not to handicap my combos because of it. If I can do one 90+% in training but slip it online half the time, so be it, it’s my combo. It just so happened in vanilla, my team allowed my BNB to TOD off LMHS lol sigh the good ol days. I love how everyone, including myself, is talking about 3 weeks ago like it was 3 years ago.

How long did it take y’all to do Dante’s swagged combos?
