It's showtime! Come on! Dante Combo Thread -Will be updated to UMvC3 standards soon.-

Hammer gives a hard knockdown, we’ve got a few combos that hammer on the front page. Just look for where they connect hammer and keep a combo goin’.

Also, I’m thinking I should I put the inputs for the loops on the front page to avoid having to answer the question about their notation so many times.

Wait, so what otg attacks does Dante have exactly?

mash DF H
QCF M
Volcano
FDF L

Am I missing anything else?

You can cancel j.:s: with Bold Move but it’s really weird and I can’t figure it out.

Dante’s j.(mash :h:) OTGs as well as qcf x2 :m:

i need help, i try to do l, m, h, S, j.m, j.h, killer bee, S, j.m, j.h, sky dance, million dollars. but it often drops the combo(when not on a wall) once i get to sky dance…like it gets to far away or something…any help landing sky dance(off wall)?

From what I can tell you just can’t do the sky dance combos outside the corner consistently. Go for an air exchange, Killer Bee x2 for soft knockdown, or don’t do another launcher combo off the ground bounce killer bee. There are lots of options off the ground bounce, like simple qcb :l: xx Fireworks xx Million Dollars or f.:h: xx Bold Move xx qcb :h: xx fireworks xx Million Dollars.

so is the sky dance combo not even possible if it’s not in a corner though?

It’s possible it’s just inconsistent because some of the hits of the sky dance whiff sometimes.

hmm…ok, thanks i think ill stick with reverb shock when im not in the corner…also…is dante easier to use with a fight stick over a xbox remote? because my TE was getting fixed and im getting it back soon.

was wondering if it is possible to do hammer, volcano xx beehive?

There are 2 different types of sky dance as far as I know:

 1. Hits when the opponent is higher than dante - results in the last hit of the dance whiffing and the opponent won’t get knocked away. When you do million dollar, they will be perfectly in front of the gunfire. This setup is required if you want to reverb shock, fireworks, or cold shower, stinger, bc, air trick, etc.

 2. When the opponent is equal height to Dante when they get hit, the last hit will send the opponent horizontally away from Dante at the ground which gives a shorter window to input million dollar. I’ve found that it is definitely possible though. My tip is to hit the two attack buttons immediately when Dante’s feet touch the floor and you’ll always hit the opponent without them falling out. The opponent will bounce up and down above the gunfire though so not all shots will hit.

For those who want to know the notation for the Acid Rain loop, someone did a variation of it with notations on top:

yes.

I got something fancy for you,Shine: The Dementia Combo; Requirements: Corner Only,2-4 bars (Lvl 3 possible),X-Factor,Devil Trigger (Not at the start): L,M,H,S,Air M,Air M,Air H,Killer Bee,Devil Trigger (as soon as you touch the ground),S,Air M,Air M,Air H,Thunder Bolt,Vortex,Air S,Cold Shower xx Stinger,Million Dollars, XFC before the “Jackpot!” shot is fired, jump,Sky Dance,Million Dollars OR Devil Must Die.

Damage with Devil Must Die: 1,3375,500
Damage with 2nd Million Dollars:1,023,500

The problem with burning Xfactor in a Dante combo is the combo is then by default meterless; he has multiple infinites, so spending the meter for less damage is non-real-match friendly. However, if you’re just looking for good looks, by all means, keep the supers.

It’s probably worth describing the hit properties of Sky Dance on the first post since so many people ask about it.

Personally, I can get the last hit to whiff consistently by slowing down the air combo so the opponent is 45 degrees above Dante when the Sky Dance hits.

On that note, can anybody post some practical setups for his infinites?
I think they were jam session, tempest or cold shower loops and the minimum required was xfc level2? Can’t try any of this stuff now since I’m at work.

Sky Dance xx Xfactor -> Jam Session and ground qcb :h: xx Xfactor -> Jam Session x N. Near corner :l: :m: :h: xx Jam Session xx xfactor -> Jam Session x N.

Setting up the Twister/Tempest infinite is easy. Just hit Hammer or J.:s:

I don’t come on very often but this is the first I’ve heard of Dante’s infinite and there’s no combo on the first page of this thread called Twister/Tempest or anything. Was wondering if OP could update this thread so it is on the combo list.

Great job so far by the way on that list, much longer and more organized than some character combo threads.

The reason I don’t have his Twister/Tempest up is because it’s just the move Twister style cancelled into Tempest. In other words:
:dp::l:xx:dp::l:

Setting it up comes off of anything that’s a hard knockdown. It is worth noting that if you’re about to run out of X-Factor and the opponent isn’t dead you can cancel Twister into Million Dollars.
