I’d still like to see the acid rain loop done consistently, especially in match play. I tried adding just one into my combo I listed above and it doesn’t work consistently at all. It’s rare to get it because of starting prop shredder when they are too low to the ground. (though, besides using that or throwing in another bold cancel, if anyone can find something to add to this, I’d appreciate it:)

I use 3 combos with dante alone that are consistent: His regular BnB, my corner BnB listed above, and the kitchen sink in the corner. With his reg BnB though, I add :h: before the :s: relaunch. I don’t see that listed in a lot of combos and it’s an extra free hit. Is there a disadvantage to doing it? I notice sometimes midscreen after the relaunch into :m::m::h: Sky Dance, he whiffs it. Maybe because I throw in that extra :h: idk.

I still see combos using million carats but…I just laugh because you can’t follow up a lot of times because it won’t work on a lot of chars.

And for the love of fuck, can anyone explain WHY it is that Dante wants to do Volcano twice in a row instead of styling into Bee Hive sometimes? This happens to my brother a lot too. On both stick and pad it seems effed.

Deadpool is a great, if not the best, assistant to do a DHC trick with Dante for big damage. Even off of using a DP BnB into his HC and the DHC trick, if you come in with Dante and use nothing but j.:s:, Volcano xx Bee Hive it does around 840k damage.

Sent can come in and do 2 HC back to back off of the same deadpool setup for around the same amount, maybe more.

hatz dante is doing volcano twice in a row instead of beehive because you put an up input in the second volcano meaning dante will jump cancel the 1st volcano and cancel the pre jump frames into the 2nd one.

jus make your inputs more precise and it will be aight

Surprised no one’s talked about the Cold shower infinite patch yet. Did it affect any of his current combos ?

All of the original icons should be back soon from what I read on the new layout thread, so we just have to deal with an ugly combo layout for a little bit longer.

I never tried the infinite before it was patched out, but from what I read all they did to fix it was after 13 consecutive hits it pushes Dante back too far to continue the combo. I doubt that will affect any current combos, but I haven’t played MvC3 since then so I could be wrong.

I have been doing this on wesker the past 30 min with pretty much no success…yet i see videos where it is used without any effort. Online last night, some scrub was trying to do it to me as well.

I go

LMH xx VOLCANO j.MH, AIR PLAY, j.H (land), H, S, H (CHARGE SHOT), S (PROP SHREDDER)

Now after that, you’re supposed to jump up and do a Hammer. The few occasions I did pull it off, Dante wouldnt jump high enough and hammer would whiff. I’ll get to that solution as soon as I figure the first.

I do ONE charge shot into prop shredder and most always they tech out of the prop shredder. Why? Does it only work on some chars? I’ve tried delaying prop shredder and that didn’t help. It seems very very random to get them to pop up. What the fuck am I doing wrong?

j.LH? nonono. j.H, no L. Light attacks kick the hitstun deterioration way high. You can do j.MH there (usually against Sent), but never to j.L if you can help it.

The one thing I can’t seem to get 100% yet with Dante is TK’ing Acid Rain into the loop…

If Prop Shredder isn’t hitting enough to pop them up it’s because you’re creating too much hit stun before hand. Also, when you do the combo the starter should be M,H,F+H(Stinger)xx S+ATK(Bold Cancel)xx Volcano then J.H, Air Play, J.H,

That very well may be it. Starting without the L. Ok…but is stinger b/c necessary…or is that just for style. Because I use b/c mid combo when it’s NEEDED. Starting with it is a pain in the dick sometimes…unless it’s necessary please tell me.

I’m not sure if it’s necessary or not, I’ve never tried to without it, but it adds a good chunk of damage to the total.

You have to time it like the same timing as if you were going to do a teleport after the prop shredder. You TK the second qcf+L.

I’m a pad player and my clumsy ass fingers can’t reliably pull off that acid rain loop. I’m placated by the fact that Acid Rain looping is not strictly necessary to pull off touch of death combos.

I’m a pad player too. I pull off shit that others say “idk how you can do that with a pad.” Well…idk how they can do it with a stick lol. I tried the stick route for a few days…just never got used to it. Why fix what isn’t broken? I wasn’t the arcade generation. Im a couple years after that pretty much. Don’t feel bad. Unless you really suck with a pad…then you should try stick.

The acid rain loop put plainly…is a gimmick. It’s unreliable. Just my opinion.

Acid rain loop is fine if you know how many times to do it.

I would lurk SRK and see the prevailing opinion that pad players had no hope in fighters, which made me want to get a quality fightstick. I still do, actually, but that’s quite the luxury item for another luxury item, and boys don’t have money like that. I feel somewhat accomplished I can nail most of Dante’s stuff reliably on pad–timing is more of an issue than anything. I still want to see how I can do on a stick though.

As for acid loop, I always looked at it as unnecessary work. Its best quality is flash and bragging points, but it definitely has practical applications, and it builds meter like a beast. I’ll stick with the bold canceling and DHC trick for now, though.

A quality arcade stick is quite the luxury indeed, but I can’t play a fighting game without one. Except Mortal Kombat. Definitely didn’t see that one coming.

Acid Rain loops are awesome, but like it’s been stated they can be unreliable. I try to only use them in the corner unless it’s someone like Sentinel where multiple reps are almost guaranteed.
Most of the time hammer gets the job done, but there’s something to be said about that extra meter and damage.

Plus, it looks awesome.

Been here a while dude. A long while. I’m well aware of the opinion of pad whores. Frankly…I don’t give a shit. If you can accomplish what stick players can…what’s the problem. It’d be like a white man showing up to a kenyan race and they all look at him and chuckle. Only when he whoops their asses, they’ll think twice next time about knockin him :).

I pretty much got the air play prop shredder combo down. Thanks shin for that. It was using L first. I always wondered why people omitted it. I dont see any dante players using the first simple bnb that was really discovered with bee dive or whatever that shit is called, into sky dance, reverb, million dollars. Perhaps…just not as stylish anymore.

New problem has arisen. Stinger cancelling into teleport. I have no idea what Im doing wrong…it barely works for me. Ive tried inputting 22S+M fast as hell and slower. No difference. Anyone else have a problem with this?

The combo is Cold shower xx Stinger xx 22 ATK+S. Dante just doesnt wanna fuckin teleport most the time for me.

Try Stinger xx 2 ATK+S xx 2 S.
The problem is you’re doing the input for bold cancel but you’re not actually inputting for the teleport, so you’re most likely just doing a hop out of stinger every time instead of canceling into air trick.

You could also try Stinger xx ATK+S xx 22 S if you’re having issues with the first method of bold canceling air trick.
Hopefully that solves your issue, it’s actually not that bad once you get it down a few times.
