Yeah the j.H > j.S/Hammer thing is something I’ve been doing ever since I saw takeurlife do it once. It requires like no timing at all and is a lot more reliable than st.S > j.S.
Another thing to note about that:
If you’re one of the Dante players that still does [Opener] Stinger > BC > Volcano > j.M j.H > Killer Bee, you can set up an Acid Rain loop midscreen much easier just by doing Acid Rain j.H > Hammer. If you do j.H j.S, it’s way too hard to combo after it because it activates the flying screen and they fall back too far. Doing Hammer allows them to fall right in front of you and you can go into Cold Shower > Stinger > Teleport > Stuff right after it. I guess the whole combo before the Cold Shower would be:
It’s not that they pop out, The stinger usually just never comes out. I do the motions, I look to see if I inputted it (I did) But the timing is wrong. Basically, what happens is Cold Shower, then nothing. And I input it that way each time.
However, I input 3 H’s instead of 2. Maybe that’s the problem.
How many shots (Do Hammer into Cold Shower and subtract the hit counter by 1) of Cold Shower are coming out? If it’s 4 (5 hits) then you’re not pausing long enough. Basically you want to pause just a second so Dante stops firing then go into :f:+:h:. Or you can just do :df:+:h::h::h: :f:+:h:
try setting the CPU to auto-guard then do the inputs. if the Stinger connects after 2 hits of Cold Shower, you’re doing it right. if done mid-combo, the timing will be slightly more lenient, but if you can get it this way then you’re good to go pretty much.
In the corner, for Stinger into Sky Dance, doing two shots will make it so that Sky Dance doesnt cross up and resets the ground bounce. If you do 4 shots (or mash it out) Sky Dance crosses up leaving Dante in the corner and the last hit whiffs (which means you get the long ground bounce).
With Haggar, you can call Lariat > Back Throw > Reverb Shock~FireWorks > hyper. Does like no damage at all of course, but if you x-factor after Reverb Shock and do dash mhs or just s > charge shots > prop shredder > etc. its pretty much a dead character. Doing Million Dollar and then doing x-factor > teleport > whatever also does a ton of damage.
I’ve been doing the Marlinpie combo (…Prop Shredder SJC Million Carats, Million Carats, Stinger bc Beehive) and there’s not enough hitstun to go for Cold Shower ~ Stinger as usual. after Beehive, I go for dash back, st.S ~ Charge Shots ~ Stinger and it keeps crossing up every time. any tips? I’ve tried using the first hit of Bolts assist as well. sometimes it crosses up, sometimes it doesn’t. I managed to break 800k the one time I got it down.
it’s my own spin on it, which is what I posted above. figured I would get more damage from doing two Million Carats, though I wonder if I can Cold Shower (4 hits) ~ Stinger BC Carats while they’re on the way down from the second.
Making a new corner combo, do you know the timing or whatever to make it so that when you do Ground bounce back dash S Up shots xx Stinger BC Sky Dance you know whether you’re gonna get the reset or a ground bounce? Or do you just do it and continue the combo depending on which happens.
You can control it in a couple ways. The most reliable one i’ve found is delaying the backdash S after the ground bounce. The more you delay it, the more likely they’ll be in a position for the reset. The less you delay it, the more likely it will ground bounce. I keep the same stinger timing for both situations and only use 2 shots.
You can mess around with the number of shots as a higher number leaves them higher and increases the likely hood of the ground bounce but then your stinger timing has to be different
