Was playing with a friend who was using Dudley yesterday… He pulled a Cross Counter and i decided what the hell why not Ultra his ass U1 …
Well guess what it countered my U1 and i ate a shot …
Haha, good ol’ Dee Jay. DSP was fucking people up hardcore with him at the Danbury PNT tourney on launch night
At first impression, I was thinking “wow, he’s beast”, but after getting some quality hands-on with him last night, I can say he’s probably upper mid-level at best. No easy/practical way to combo into Ultra, semi-meh recovery on Max Out (I refuse to call it ‘Air Slash’), Dread Kicks are still kinda iffy with usefulness, U1 is very use-specific. But he still has stupid priority normals (especially low Fierce, standing Forward and slide), a ridiculous crossup with awesome wakeup shenanigans (almost forgot low Forward, one of the best/safest knockdowns in the game), EX upkicks stuff everything, and c.Jab 2x > c.Strong XX EX MGU is just way too good. He’s gonna be pretty popular methinks.
Yeah I think your right. I’m way too used to the speed in ST. I can do j.HK cr.MP xx special move no problem. I really gotta practice inputting my special move in later. Any tips on that?
I’m thinking it will come with practice too. But I doubt I am going to try it online much. It is really not worth the risk, when you can do c.LP or c.LK to c.mk for mix ups and tick throws etc… In the corner it would work well since you can exMGU to U2. With how Deejay has stupid priority and damage in this game, combos with specials aren’t really needed much. But like I said if you can one frame link 95% of the time that’s great! But it is not worth the risk VS Zang, T.Hawk, Hakan etc…
This is getting frustrating. Level 23 on his challenges i can not get the air slash to come out after the standing L kick for the life of me. Im not mashing at all either, I just can’t get it to come out period.
I’m having a hard time applying U2 to my game. I can’t reliably EX MGU to Ultra 2 during a match right now, so I don’t want to try that when it could cost me. At this point in my SF4 career, it’s seems more worthwhile to stick to U1 and punish whiffed SRKs and the like (I suck really bad and am playing against really sucky people).
So, is there any U2 set ups I’m forgetting about to make it more worthwhile to me besides the EX MGU dash midscreen/EX MGU corner set ups?
Also, what do you guys think is his best wake up options? A lot of time when I’m being pressured, I just block all day because I’m not sure what to use as reversals/wake up moves.
Absolutely ridiculous. It would help a bit more if this guy didn’t mash his way through the end of it on level 23.
Edit: I just randomly got it. Whatever, that was the most stupid trail level ever.
Also, it would be cool if someone could post a video that doesn’t mash through it.
What is the difference between LK, MK and HK supers? Seems like LK Super is the fastest and HK is the slowest according to the frame data. The dmg is same for all three.
U2 is so usefull!!! Wake-up U2 is godly to say the least. You can get so many people off guard with it. As for U1 I’ve found no real way to combo into it, though it is good to punish. On the flip side U2 as Anti-Air is very good!
